Very spacious detached modern property offering spectacular views of Tralee bay and the surrounding mountains. One can enjoy breakfast on the front veranda and watch the boats on Tralee Bay.

In the evening enjoy a barbecue as you relax in the comfortable patio chairs, turn on the torch gas heater as the sun goes down. This well equipped property has 4 large en-suite double bedrooms, a separate guest WC and a separate family bathroom with a bath tub. The house boasts a beautiful large living room featuring spectacular views across Tralee Bay, with an open fire if the temperature drops or if you just want to add to the atmosphere. The TV room is a comfortable room offering full SKY TV with SKY+ facilities for those who wish to record their favourite programmes. The games room offers a full size snooker table and a slot machine. A fully equipped large kitchen with gas hob and electric oven, microwave and American fridge freezer.

HOUSE DETAILS: The 4 bedrooms are all on ground level;the family room has a double and single bed with Sky TV, adjacent to a twin bedded room perfect for parents who wish to be near their children.

The king-bedded room is at the other end of the house with Sky TV, beside the second twin room. All en suite.

The large kitchen is perfect to dine in or just relax with a cup of tea and watch the cows in the surrounding fields or just gaze across Tralee bay.With its 6 ring gas hob, double electric oven and spacious area it is ideal for a large or extended family.

Dish washer, washing machine,dryer and American fridge are all in the convenient utility room.

The TV room has 2 leather couches and a beautiful open fire place with a 42 'flat screen Sky+ TV.

At the other end of the house, the large lounge has a 3 piece white leather suite, an open fire, and a large extending relaxer chair placed in the wide bay window so you can read in comfort or enjoy the panoramic view of Tralee Bay to Fenit Pier.

Local area: This is the perfect location to have as a base to explore the South West.The house is situated on an acre site overlooking Tralee Bay surrounded by beautiful mountain views.Fenit Harbour is a 5 min drive away with its amazing scenery and unspoilt village.Here one can enjoy beach walks along the shore or go up to St.Brendan's statue situated on a steep cliff side over looking the harbour. Then have a wonderful lunch in the quaint Beach Shop serving organic vegetarian meals not to be missed, or enjoy a tipple in the West End Bar with excellent bar menu. There are daily boat trips out to the off-shore lighthouse where one can disembark and explore the sights.Fenit has a very active sailing school. Fishing trips and sea angling can be also be arranged from this Port. There is also a local horse riding stable where beach treks are on offer. Down the road from the house is the local bar and restaurant, The Tankard. Here regular super music nights are held and the food is highly recommended.

Sporting Activities: There are numerous activities in the area. It's a golfers paradise with numerous top rated clubs to choose from including Tralee Links designed by Arnold Palmer, Ballybunion Waterville,The Dooks and Killarney all within driving distance of Oysterhaven.

The Dingle Peninsula is a 40 min scenic drive away known for its climbing ,surfing, windsurfing, and fishing. Dingle town itself is a very busy nucleus with many shops offering a wide range of merchandise - local knitted garments to pottery to jewellery; or enjoy the vast choice of restaurants and pubs, many offering traditional music.

The Ring of Kerry is a 40 min drive away in the opposite direction - a magnificent scenic area with Killarney National Park where one can horse trek.

Tralee town itself is a 10 min drive from home where one can enjoy Siamsa Tire, Ireland's National Folk Theatre, or head to the Greyhound stadium for a really enjoyable meal and place a bet or two.The Aquadome is a children's swimming paradise.

The best you can get

When you want to book a house you first look at the pictures. After that: you read the reviews. So, we did. But photos and reviews don't allways say everything. Reviews could be written by friends, and photos could be manipulated. But, in this case... This place is even better than the reviews, more stunning than the photos on the website.

This is a house with so much space that you almost need a navigation to find the rooms. And yet, it's cosy. Charming. Inside as well as outside, where you have grass in front of the house and a small "footballfield" behind the house.

We stayed in this quiet dreamvilla with two adults and three kids (7, 12 and 16) and had a great time. The view from the diningroom and the loungeroom is amazing. You see the ocean, you see the mountains. It's a life 3D movie. That's why we didn't use the tv-room very much. But that room is also fantastic. With a large tv, comfortable seats and many, very many programs. We even saw Dutch football live! PSV against NAC Breda, the club from our hometown. We lost: 6-1. But we are used to that.

We stayed for a week, but if we had the money and our boss would have allowed us to stay for a couple of extra weeks, I'm sure we still would be there.

A great base for a holiday in Kerry!

Oysterhaven was a wonderful house for our party, which consisted of four golfers. It is very well located and has a wonderful view of Tralee Bay. It's a great location for making day trips out to a whole variety of great courses. The house is extremely well equipped in every regard, and having ensuite bathrooms for each bedroom made getting out the door very easy. Eithne was wonderful to deal with, and the house is exactly as described; no surprises!

Nice to have the Tankard just a short walk away, but of course it's not far to great restaurants and pubs in Tralee and Killarney as well.

We will definitely book there again when our golfing travels bring us back to the area!

Awesome Home!!!

We (6 of our family members) just returned from a wonderful trip to Ireland where we spent a week at Oysterhaven. It was the perfect location for exploring the Ring of Kerry, the Ring of Dingle, Killarney, Portmagee, Skellig Michael and the many other beautiful portions of Southwest Ireland.

The house was truly home away from home. It was so spacious that we each had our own areas where we could retreat. We looked forward to coming back each night and enjoyed wonderful mornings eating breakfast overlooking Fenit Harbor. It could not have been more relaxing setting after busy days sightseeing. Our entire group was sad at leaving the house.

I spoke with Eithne several times and she was so helpful and kind. I never felt like I was bothering her. Thank you, Eithne, for allowing us to stay in your home. We would all definitely recommend Oysterhaven. We most certainly would love to return...

This house was absolutely Devine. Plenty of room,

I had friends and relatives in and out over the 5 weeks I spent at Eithne's house and all were totally wowed by this home. It was depicted perfectly on the website, no surprises except she didn't describe the beautiful view of Tralee Bay, but then how can you? Eithne is one of a kind and went out of her way to make me feel welcomed, like when I got lost in Tralee on my arrival and she said "stay there I'm coming"!!! My only disappointment is that it is not available for the weeks I need next year...even at that, she is assisting me in finding an equally nice place. I feel as though I have made a new friend "Home Away"!!! It is to be sure she does the same for all who has the pleasure of meeting her...thank dear friend.

This house ticks ALL the boxes

We have been renting holiday homes in Kerry for many years, however in terms of
amenities within "Oyster Haven" the Location and the magnificent view all the family were in agreement this was simply the best. Nothing was to much trouble for the house owner Eithne ,she even provided a new high chair for our grandson. I have requested 2 weeks next summer, Co Kerry cannot guarantee "no rain"( although we were lucky with good weather) this house will provide all the comfort to look out at it. Marian P

Down the road from the house is the local bar/restaurant, The Tankard , with free wifi, featuring regular super music nights and an excellent bar menu. Five minutes away you can enjoy steaks or seafood at the Oyster Tavern or at the Spa Seafood Restaurant, which also boasts an excellent fresh fish counter and deli.

From the house one can enjoy the festivities of the Rose of Tralee and Listowel Races. Other activities nearby include shore fishing (sea bass within walking distance), sea angling, birdwatching, golf, swimming, horse riding, sailing, surfing, and windsurfing.

Notes

  • Rent payable in Euro. A booking deposit €300 per week is required at the time of booking to hold the reservation with the balance due 28 days before arrival. You may cancel with full refund, less 10% administration costs, 45 days prior to arrival. The deposit is non-refundable after that period. A Security Deposit of €500 is also required and is payable with the balance 28 days prior to arrival. The Security Deposit will be returned in full, minus the cost of electricity used (see below) 10 days after departure, assuming there are no damages.

    Our Caretaker will meet you on the day of your arrival to hand over the keys and read the electricity meter, and again on departure to collect the keys and read the meter. The cost of electricity units is 25 cent per unit and the total will be deducted from your security deposit.

    Rent includes bed linen, towels, and a welcome pack of basic necessities.

There is a large veranda at the front of the house that is accessible from both the Lounge sliding doors and the front door. It is ideal for eating out and offers plenty of space to accommodate a large patio set, patio umbrella, beef eater barbecue and gas heater (all supplied).
