The location is unique: Villa Sorrento is located at the Capo di Sorrento near Massa Lubrense. The villa gives testimony, that from this house the king of Naples planned the siege against the English in the fight to recapture Capri. Located in a small village this amazing historic residence boasts one of the most beautiful views on Capri and the Bay of Naples. Not only is Villa Sorrento strategically situated between Sorrento, Capri and Positano, but it is also located along thirteen miles of inspiring coastline, with a network of trails for spectacular hiking. Daytrip possibilities include nearby Sorrento, the archaeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum, Naples and Vesuvius, Capri, Ischia, as well as Positano and the Amalfi Coast. A trattoria/restaurant and a small food shop are in walking distance, exclusive restaurants abound, with at least three that have been accredited a Michelin star rating.
The rooms have large windows or balconies with sea views and are characterized by the wealth of furniture and vintage items and painted ceilings. One of the rooms is kept perfectly intact because it is assumed that it is precisely that which in October 1808 has stayed the king. The bathrooms are outside the rooms except in the ground floor suite, to respect the villa's historical architectural plans.
The pool overlooking the Gulf of Naples is nestled in a secluded corner of the gardens of Mediterranean vegetation is fully integrated with the natural environment to live moments of absolute serenity and privacy. The villa's gardens are like an open air lounge, equipped with wrought iron tables and chairs, hammocks and swings, the ideal place to relax and be revitalised with walks among ancient species of trees and rare Mediterranean plants.
Ground floor: A 17th-century iron gate leads to the stone paved square in front of the villa. The hall to the right is reserved for staff. To the left:
