Exactly what we expected, NO even better!!! The building is still under construction, but that didn´t really matter and at the end when it is finished, it will be a beautiful Art Ceco House again!!!

Let's see... 3rd & Ocean... Miami Beach... January... what an awesome combination!
I enjoyed my one month stay "below 5th" (street) as the locals call it. My stay was a sort of test for me... Would I like to resettle in Miami Beach. I confirmed my gut feeling... YES YES YES.
While I never got to meet Ayal, he was very responsive by phone and text answering questions when I was moving in and out.
Overall, I'd highly recommend this rental!
We came for Christmas and New Years Eve to Florida, and rented a condo. The building was under constraction, and its not new inside and outside, but its very convinient with the location, very afordable, and has everything you need to spend your vacation on South Beach. We loved that we never had to use a car anywhere, because it was a walking distance to everything: pool, beach, parks, restaurants, stores, and that's exactly what we needed to spend our vacation in a nice, and very warm place on South Beach, and relax. The owner was very helpful, and easygoing. We will come back there again.
Four of us booked a last-minute trip to Miami for Art Basel (the busiest weekend of the year). We were looking for an inexpensive unit in a good location and this was it. The unit is great for budget-minded travelers who don't want to pay hundreds of dollars a night. Located at 4th and Ocean, it is south of all the madness but still walkable or bike-able to anywhere in South Beach. The building has a nice pool if you want it, but the beach is literally your backyard. Ayal is a great renter: he was quick with service and communicated everything we needed to know. I would stay here again and recommend it to others.
Walk outside and a pathway leads past the pool to the beach. The condo has three beach chairs you can take with you. Outside hose and shower to get the sea salt and sand off after a morning walk on the beach or a swim. Don't forget to take a three block walk down to south Pointe Park and watch the cruise ships head out at sunset. The condo is next to a nice park and coffee shop or head north to the action of south beach restaurants clubs and bars. Lummus Park starts four blocks from the condo. Everything in the condo works and the stove and fridge are brand new. The bed is comfortable. There is a separate air conditioner in the living room and bedroom so you can adjust temps for sleeping separately. The building is being renovated and a brand new building is going up two doors down so plan on a little construction noise during working hours. This condo unit has an advantage since it is in the back of the building and away from the street so it is quiet. Also if you look out your window at an angle you can actually catch a glimpse of the beach and the water. We actually missed it for the first few days. The landlord is a no nonsense, honest, responsive and friendly host.
One thing to consider is whether you need a car. We were there for three weeks and took a lot of side trips to the keys and the everglades so we wanted one. Still braving the cost of south beach parking can be a drawback since the condo does not have off street parking. Also, a lot of units in SoBe charge for their on site parking anyway. A Publix supermarket is within walking distance as well as lots of restaurants and coffee shops. If you do need a car to tour about we noticed a rental car (enterprise I think) within walking distance of the unit which might be an alternative to consider.
All in all we were very happy with the condo and the experience.
Let's start with the positive aspects of the condo first. The location of the building is a 20 second walk to the beach and South of Fifth, one of the nicest neighborhoods in South Beach. In addition, this rather decrepit building is being repaired and painted. It should look nice when the work is completed.
Regrettably, the negative portions of my review is far more extensive. The entire unit is in a desperate need of a paint job. The popcorn ceiling is peeling and is discolored. The furniture appears to have been purchased arbitrarily at the Salvation Army. The quality of the mattress was poor and hence terribly uncomfortable. Within three days I replaced the mattress with my own (sorry the unit owner did not want to purchase the mattress from me so I removed it when I left). Though the rent is relatively inexpensive considering the area I cannot recommend this condo.
