Public Transport Travel: The flat is moments from a bus stop with regular buses to and from Hammersmith (5/10 minutes out of peak times) including early morning and late at night. The bus stops adjacent to Hammersmith underground station served by the Piccadilly line (Heathrow and the West End including Harrods and the museums), The District line (Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Westminster) and the Hammersmith and City and Circle lines (Paddington station for Heathrow express, Baker Street for Madame Tussauds and the Planetarium).
Barnes station (not underground) is about 15 minutes walk across the green from where there are regular trains to Waterloo, at least 4 trains an hour taking less than 25 minutes. Waterloo is easy walking distance from the South Bank Arts centre including Royal Festival Hall and National Theatre and the London Eye as well as the Old Vic theatre, London Aquarium and, a little further (longer walk or short taxi ride) the Globe Theatre, Tate modern and the Millenium bridge.
Furniture and appliances: The flat is our London pied a terre and is furnished and equipped as one of our homes not a rental. It is available to rent only when we do not wish to use it ourselves. The flat was fully refurbished in summer 2011. There is natural oak flooring throughout. The bedroom has a super king bed with duvet and down filled pillows. The kitchen has Neff and Bosch appliances including an iPod/ iPhone docking station. There is a dishwasher but no washing machine
The bathroom has a bath, hand basin and WC. The bath has a hand shower but there is no walk in shower.
The dining room has a table and six chairs. The living room a sofa with side tables, two arm chairs, glass topped coffee table and internet enabled Sony TV and DVD player. There is an interactive TV system that allows on demand films the cost of which will be deducted from the deposit.
There is WiFi Internet and a telephone for which call charges will be deducted from the deposit.
Shopping and local facilities: While Barnes is an upmarket suburb, the shops of central London are easily reached and this is reflected in the range of shopping available.
Moments from the flat is a parade of shops including newsagent, French boulangerie/cafe, all day every day convenience store, specialist bread shop, greengrocer, chemist,ladies clothes shop, ladies hairdresser and dry cleaner. A little further (5 minutes walk) there is, in one direction, a high quality butcher, a cheese shop, a fishmonger, mens clothing and two baby wear and equipment stores. In the other direction a further parades of shops including two well known restaurants.
There is a bank with ATM within 100 yards and two medical practices within 5 minutes walk.
