The house is a typical old farmhouse with 1 meter thick stone walls, with the exception that when renovating we dug more then a meter under the house, adding damp proofing and under floor heating.
We have a separate laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer, iron and ironing board as well as ample cupboards.
The kitchen, lounge and dining room are very open plan. There is also a separate large room on the ground floor with a pool table and a complete fitness gym.
The kitchen is designed for a serious cook and contains all sorts of appliances and a 6 burner hob, as well as two ovens.
At the top of the stairs is a small lounge. Here there is a large flat screen T.V. with all free-view channels plus all BBC channels. (There is a smaller version of this in the kitchen as well).
Bedroom 4 leads off this sitting area. A hallway leads to bedrooms 1, 2 and 3 as well as the main bathroom. Also off this is another brighter lounge area through which you pass to reach the bedroom 5
This house is suitable for winter or summer let. It has full central heating - radiators upstairs and both under floor heating and a wood burning stove downstairs, although the wood burning stove is sufficient. Air conditioning we have never required as the house is very well insulated and the thick walls keep it cool in summer. If necessary a portable unit is available.
The house is suitable for small children as the stairs are gated at the bottom and an optional blockade can be added at the top.
The staircase is a large spiral oak stair.
Son Barrina is a working organic farm. It boasts the largest and one of the oldest organic shops on the island, stocking products from England and Germany as well as the bio-dynamically grown products from the farm. It is open to the public Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings.
Our fresh water reservoir (approx. 12 m x 27 m x 4 m) is like swimming in a lake. The reservoir is not suitable for non-swimmers being deep all over, but there is nothing more refreshing then swimming in clean water that contains no chemicals, nor any salt. The reservoir is only open to us and our rental guests. House areas are kept totally private from the shop and farm areas.
Llubi train station is a 15 min walk down a very quiet lane from the farm. The surrounding area is agricultural and very peaceful (although train and road noises can be heard when outside).
All bookings for 2015 , where the deposit is paid during December 2014, can take a 10% reduction in cost.
