Our villa is a 130 year old fully modernized traditional farmhouse or cortijo. It is the perfect place for your ideal holiday or short break.

Sleeps from 2 to 12 people in our 4 bedroom villa and optional separate 2 bedroom annexe just outside Antequera. The main house has a fabulous modern kitchen, three bathrooms, including a huge round hydrotherapy bath, a very big living room with 5 sofas,Freeview TV, CD hi-fi, free Wifi Internet access,separate large dining room.

The poolside annexe offers two more additional and completely optional bedrooms, both with en suite hydrotherapy bathrooms, hot and cold air conditioning.

Outdoors there is a modern 8x5m kidney-shaped swimming pool set in fenced and landscaped gardens - totally private and just 10 minutes drive from the beautiful city of Antequera.

Flexible change overs/Short Breaks on request: Our normal changeover day is Saturday (departing at 10am, arriving at 4pm), though we are very happy to be flexible if bookings allow.

The nearest international airports are Malaga and Granada, both about 45 minutes drive, and Seville, which is about 1 hour away. The drive from Granada is particularly beautiful... Car hire is essential unless you do not intend to leave the property during your stay!

Antequera has all the usual attractions of any major county town, good shopping, a nice mix of bars and restaurants - but also unusual attractions like El Torcal National Park, The Wolf Park - where you can literally howl with the wolves, and the 5000 year old burial Dolmens.

Cortijo Las Vinas is at the crossroads of Andalucia and is perfect for visiting Granada, The Alhambra, Cordoba, Seville, Ronda or the coast.

  • All rooms are fully air conditioned with hot and cold air for all year round comfort. Ground flooring is Spanish Tile and upstairs is all Spanish Marble. In the villa, there are 3 bedrooms with double beds, one bedroom with 2 single beds and we have a cot for very small children. In the poolside annexe, there are 2 more luxury en suite bedrooms both with double beds, hair-dryers, hydrotherapy bath. All bed linen and towels are provided. Whether it be 2 persons or 12 persons staying at the villa, you have totally privacy. The annexe rooms are only rented when a group requires further accommodation during their stay.

Notes:
The very private, fully fenced and landscaped gardens feature large lawns, hosts of fruit and nut trees, wonderful views over the Plains of Antequera to the Snowy Mountains of Granada, an illuminated Pergola and more wildlife than we can say. There is also a gas barbecue for outdoor dining. The 8 metre by 5 metre kidney-shaped Pool is from 1.4 metres to 1.8 metres deep, with Roman Steps for easy access, a separate Diving Platform and is surrounded by a very sunny patio with masses of recliners and tables.

Wonderful villa

We spent the month of October, 2008 at the villa, and were very pleased. The location is wonderful for day trips or chilling out as you wish. A fantastic benefit was the local train station only 15 minutes away, as well as the closeness of the high speed station.

The Villa is very well appointed for those that like to cook in or just kick back for a day or a week. The grounds are beautiful, and the abundance of fruit trees a plus. We found the owners to be very easy to talk with, and the local English property manager a definite plus.

We would definitely come back to the Cortijo on our next visit to Andalusia.

It was amazing. We arrived and couldnt believe our eyes. The house was lovely with everything we needed and the outside and pool area was just wonderful.

We were attending a wedding and so glad we didnt stay in the hotel this was far far superior and so great to chill.

Nothing was too much trouble as we had to change our flight times 4 times. We had food ordered from the local shop and placed in the villa for our arrival and went and paid later. Great service. We even had a taxi to pick us up and bring us home all organised for us.

Would recommend it to anyone!!!!

It was fantastic eight days in your villa and my friends were thankful to me as I arranged this staying.

For me, after so many years I slept 9-10 hours and it was big happiness.

We went to Malaga, Marbella, Sevilla, Granada, Cordoba and and Nerja.

Everything was very well equipped and Paul was very polite and helpful.

I will recommend my friends to have their holidays in this peaceful home.

A week in paradise

We were a group of 12 celebarating a special birthday and wedding anniversary at the Cortijo Las VInas in May 09. The villa is set in lovely country side amongst viniards and fantastice scenery and set in a quiet area about a mile outside the very spanish village of Mollina.

If you want comfort, character and privacy to enjoy a real Spanish holiday this is the place to book. It has marvelous facilities from a fully equiped kitchen to six fantastic bedrooms, and also boasts lovely garden and a spacious swimming pool.

This is a recently renovated property, clean and well maintained. The garden is regulary tended by local landscape gardners and the pool was cleaned whilst we were there. It boasts a balcony and an a large terrace area for alfresco dining, something we did every night of our stay. We hardly ventured outside of the property of an evening prefering to make our own meals and entertainment around the terrace area. Fantastic.

Mollina is about six miles outside the town of Antequera which itself is about 45 miles north of Malaga and easily reached by car hire from Malaga airport.

Booking and all correspondence with the owners is a dream and the site manager Paul a great help in finding your way around. Dont hesitate to book this villa you will not be dissapointed.

The mosquito's were plentiful and aggressive so be warned. We sprayed all rooms nightly and also covered ourselves with repellent and still they managed to feast on us! The only negative comment on the villa really is that it is situated on the main road through the village/town and you can hear the traffic quite clearly. However, you do actually get used to it and block it out so that by approx day 3 you hardly notice it at all.
The huge outdoor space and large room proportions indoors gives everyone the opportunity to find some 'peace' if required and I can honestly say that a great time was had by all.
Mollina is as stated a charming little town with most amenities you require and Antequera (10 mins away) should supply anything else.
Paul the property manager was particularly helpful and friendly and lives very close so can help if any assistance is required.
All in all a very good choice of villa for a larger group who prefer the relative peace for most days but still want to be close enough to a beach for odd days. The lakes are also well worth a visit.
