The house is a great location for walkers as there are Levada walks not far from the house.
Down the road is a mini market which also has home-made fresh bread and a café/bar next to it where you can enjoy a hot cup of fresh coffee or try the traditional drinks.
Discovering the area: If you would like to get away from the sun and sea, you may like to visit an Art centre in Calheta called 'Casa das Mudas'.
Apart from the various exhibitions, there are stage performances or maybe enjoy a drink or meal in the restaurant which is in the building and has a stunning view.
If you would like to visit the local church, it is just a walk away from the house.
A few minutes drive you will reach a place called Prazeres, there is a farm house called 'Quinta Pedagógica' where you can visit the various animals from lamas, Emu's to chickens and after in the tea house enjoy a herbal tea or coffee and a slice of home-made fresh cake, you can also buy their home-made jams from Blueberries to wild tomato jam which are delicious.
Not far from the Quinta is a place where you can try the fresh apple cider.

This house is well located for Levada walks (Irrigation channels), our guests have enjoyed these many beautiful walks. The garden is a great place to relax after one of these walks and later on you can enjoy the magnificent sunset view.
Just down the road is a mini market where you can buy a variety of food and drinks or next to it is a local bar/café where you can enjoy a good cup of fresh grounded coffee or try the most famous and traditional Madeiran drinks.
