A TRADITIONAL VILLAGE HOUSE NEWLY RENOVATED IN AN ECO-FRIENDLY FASHION

Falmouth House Rental Photos and Description

A fusion of contemporary and traditional styles sleeping up to 4 in 2 bedrooms

With modern day comfort alongside Victorian charm, this beautifully presented coastal cottage provides an idyllic and versatile retreat in the very heart of Flushing village.

Situated close to the waterside, the coastal retreat features an

appealing river view aspect from its side windows, due to its desirable end-terrace position.

Internally the property has been renovated to a very high standard, and presents a restful and contemporary ambience in which guests can easily relax and entertain. A spacious open plan living and dining room offers a modern layout for exclusive holiday enjoyment and is finished in a cool palette of cream, soft turquoise and exposed wood for a fresh and inviting coastal flavour. With beautiful oak hardwood flooring flowing through the rooms, guests can effortlessly go from curling up on the sofa with their favourite TV show in the living room to sitting down and enjoying a memorable dinner party; to the chic glass topped dining table provided.

Enhanced by the ambient flames of the romantic wood burning stove the open plan space offers the perfect venue day and night, and is further complemented by a kitchen and a small outside decked courtyard terrace.

Immaculately presented, the swish kitchen offers glossy cabinets and hardwood work tops for a practical and stylish finish. Fully-equipped to meet the demands of a self-catering stay, the kitchen features all the necessary appliances for a care-free holiday; including an electric hob, eye-level oven, microwave, fridge freezer, a slim line dishwasher and a washer dryer. The outside courtyard is furnished with a cafe table and chairs for the perfect moment to sip a morning coffee or enjoy an evening glass of wine in the summertime.

The holiday home is ideally suited to groups of 4+2, with two spacious bedrooms upstairs accompanied by a double sofa bed to the contemporary living room.

The master bedroom is situated to the front of the property and offers a tranquil ambience in which to relax and enjoy a good night’s rest, with a solid pine king size bed plumped up with crisp bed sheets and premium quality bedding. The serene interior palette of cream, soft turquoise enlaced with the warmth of the wood used in the furniture and to the flooring also offers an inviting place in which to unwind with a good book, to the charming window seat.

A spacious twin bedroom is situated to the rear of the property and is equally presentable in its serene colour palette; with charming coastal touches to offer a restful ambience in which one can easily retire to after a busy day of sightseeing.

Steps lead to a beautifully finished bathroom ideal for enjoying luxurious home Spa moments, with a power shower, contemporary deep bath tub and a waterproof music stereo offering radio channels and iPod and MP3 input, for a perfectly chilled ambience.

Guests staying in this exclusive holiday gem are conveniently located for reaching all the delights of Flushing Village. Water sports fans can easily reach the public slipway and the haul-out moorings of Fish Cross whilst families looking to dine in have a fully-stocked village shop just moments away as well as two highly recommended local pubs and a bistro quayside restaurant nearby; to conveniently complement your self-catering stay. The pirate-themed play area to the Bowling Green and the snooker table 4 doors down in the village hall all offer the perfect distraction for children, whilst guests travelling with a well-behaved dog can find delightful walks along the coastal path to Mylor and along the dog-friendly beach at Kiln Quay.

Flushing enjoys a tranquil and timeless coastal setting and is conveniently located close to many Cornish hotspots including Falmouth and Truro, which can both be easily reached by car or

passenger ferry from Flushing.

Unpack your belongings, bring some books (and the dog) and relax in this welcoming and comfortable retreat.

LOVED THE COMPLIMENTARY CREAM TEA!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I, our two children and our dog had an amazing week in this fantastic cottage. Flushing is a lovely village and everyone that we met during the week was so friendly and welcoming. The cottage itself is one of the best places we have ever stayed in - very comfortable and clean with everything you could possibly want or need. The cream tea welcome pack was very much appreciated by all! Thanks for a fantastic week, we all loved every minute and will be back next year.

A GREAT COTTAGE, RAIN OR SHINE!

  • 5 of 5
Our little break at Fish Cross Cottage was so relaxing! The cottage was clean, comfortable and very well equipped and though the weather was mild we still lit the woodburner for a cosy night in! The bed was very comfortable and the bedroom was a wonderful place to wake up - we could even just abut see the water from the cottage! On our second night the kettle stopped working and this was replaced within half an hour - great service, thank you.
Flushing is a wonderful village, the locals are very friendly and we made plenty of use of both of the pubs - the little village store was very handy, just a few doors away and our dogs loved the beach.
A great cottage, rain or shine!

Flushing is one known to be one of the warmest villages in the UK because it has an idyllic sheltered south-facing aspect, between the banks of the Penryn River and Falmouth Harbor.

It became popular in the eighteenth century as the choice location for the wealthy Packet Ship captains, and was visited by Admiral Nelson. Latterly it has become one of the most sought-after locations anywhere in the West Country.

Flushing has an unrivaled mild climate, streets lined with picture-postcard traditional terraced fisherman’s cottages, and beautiful unspoilt surrounding countryside. There is also easy access onto some of the best sailing waters anywhere in the West Country, with the Helford River, the Fal Estuary, Falmouth Bay and Mylor Yacht Harbor all within reach. Flushing also has a Sailing Club that welcomes guests, and its own dog-friendly beach.

Many Cornish villages have become over crowded with tourists, but Flushing is much quieter, even during peak season, and it still benefits from a strong and vibrant community. The Flushing Regatta and Flushing Art Week are two annual fixtures not to be missed that the whole community embraces.

Flushing has two friendly pubs - The Standard, which was recently renovated and offers excellent food, and The Seven Stars, a more traditional pub with an equally extensive menu. There is also an award-winning restaurant located on the quayside, a well-stocked general store.

A passenger ferry runs a regular service between Flushing and Falmouth. It also connects with the ferries to St Mawes, Mylor, Trelissick and Truro. In summer the Fal River boats offer trips to the gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan, and onwards to Truro. A local water taxi service also runs around the bay.

Flushing is easy to reach by car. Penryn is the nearest rail station and connects to mainline services at Truro, which has a direct rail link to London (Paddington) with a journey time of approximately 4 hours. There is also a regular local bus service. Air travelers can fly from London Stansted or Gatwick to Newquay.
