A quiet little oasis, complete with it's own lemon trees and terrace, in the heart of Manarola. Located very close to Billy's Tratoria (a must for dinners), it's also close to the entrance to the breathtaking hikes. Franco was a wonderful host and his mother was lovely. Right down in the village there was incredible swimming in the sea, restaurants and shopping. Be sure to pack light - there are lots of stairs and hills to climb with your bags when you arrive. And it's worth it!
We spent three lovely days in Franco's apartment and found it to be clean, cozy and comfortable. Franco was a gracious host and very accomodating from booking through the checkout. We were welcomed with generously-sized lemons from Franco's mother Natalina which were promptly turned into lemonade, along with a bottle of Franco's home-made wine - what a treat!!! We spent three days hiking through the hills, vineyards and nearby villages, enjoying the town of Manarola and preparing our meals in the apartment and eating on the terrace. It was a most welcome place to rest after weeks of business travel. We have been fortunate to travel to many parts of this world and Manarola has charmed us. This aparment is recommended if you are looking for an authentic, non-tourist experience and accomodation. We thoroughly enjoyed this place. Pamela and Mattthew,

Owner's Response: It has been a pleasure to have Pamela and Matthew as guest. They are very nice people very respectful of the house and the place around. Absolutely to reccommend!
We drove to Manarola and parked above the town. After rolling our bags downhill to the edge of town, we met our host, Franco, who speaks English and is very friendly and generous. He helped us with our bags up one long set of steps and then after a short walk we were at the gate of our cozy, clean apartment. The kitchen, bedroom and bath had plenty of storage for our things, and we were happy to have Internet service. The bed was comfortable, with a good mattress. Shuttered windows opened out over the narrow "street" below and offered views of the town and, in the distance far below, the sea. Outside our door, above the street level, we had a nice table and chairs beside a garden where we enjoyed drinks at sunset. We loved being in Manarola. There's a very nice, high, level trail that begins near the parking area and leads along the cliff beside vineyards to the cemetery near the sea. The train service was frequent and on time, and we enjoyed the ride through the cliffs to the other towns of the Cinque Terra. Manarola has several nice shops and restaurants. We enjoyed breakfast down at the harbor where the tourist boats come in. At night we made dinner in the apartment or ate in one of the local restaurants--one is just a short walk from the apartment and has outdoor terraces and wonderful seafood. We loved walking through the steep, narrow streets and stopping at lovely viewpoints tucked away in the town. Manarola is our favorite Cinque Terra village, and we look forward to returning to Franco's apartment high in the top of the town.
Me & my Mom(75 years old from Tokyo) was stay Franco &his 79 years old Mother Natalia's Flat on Oct. There is a cozy & very peaceful place in Manarola village. Franco is making original wine and Natalia makes Lemon liquer, it is so good! They are very helpful & nice people, one of the best restaurant "Billy" is only few steps away too. I would like to go back again. XOXOXO
We absolutely loved our stay at Franco's apartment. Although small, it has all we needed to enjoy our visit in Cinque Terre. Franco is a wonderful host and the whole reservation process is easy and efficient.
The apartment is clean, well appointed, and at an excellent location. We took full advantage of the table on the terrace every single day to enjoy our breakfast or a little appero before dinner, after a full day out. By the way, restaurant Billy, 2 doors down, is highly recommended.
Manarola is our favorite of the 5. It is so charming. We loved the trails and the small village atmosphere.
We loved our stay here and will absolutely stay here again when we return to Manarola. The apartment was quiet, clean, comfortable, and had all the necessary amenities. The view from the bedroom window of the opposing hillside, Stations of the Cross, and other scenes was unique and excellent. The apartment and Manarola are perfectly located for hiking to the other Cinque Terre towns or hopping on the train. My wife and I took a bottle of wine to the top of the opposing hillside one evening and sat among the vineyards and watched the sunset. It was amazing and we highly recommend you do the same, but take a flashlight for the return in the dark. We also recommend hiking some of the Cinque Terre trails that are a bit less traveled; the hike between Manarola and Corniglia that takes you through Volastra was excellent (take some water). The owner, Franco, was polite and available to make sure our stay was comfortable. Loved it!
