Attadale is a 30,000 acre estate in the North West of Scotland. It stretches from the south shore of Loch Carron to Loch Monar, 15 miles away to the east.
Attadale is ideally situated for touring the North West Highlands. To the North are Applecross, Loch Torridon, Loch Maree and the famous gardens of Inverewe. To the South is the magnificent scenery of Kintail, Glenelg and, at Kyle of Lochalsh, the bridge to Skye.
Attadale Gardens is close by and free access is available to all those who have rented accommodation at Attadale Holiday Cottages.
Lochcarron is but a few miles away around the loch with a number of shops selling useful items.
Other Activities: Fishing, walking, climbing, sailing
Golf: Loch Carron Golf Club - www.lochcarrongolf.co.uk
Lochcarron is a nine hole golf course, although there are actually eleven tees. It measures 3575 yards for eighteen holes and is an enjoyable challenge of accuracy. The Standard Scratch Score and par score for the course is 60.
Every hole on the course offers the golfer something of a challenge.
Whether it is simply avoiding the beach on the first three holes or trying to keep your ball on the humpbacked green at the seventh and sixteenth, all players will find the course a test of skill and character.
Being partly along the shore, a player really knows when the wind blows. Due to the criss-cross nature of the course, the golfer can find themselves faced with a downwind tee shot, then one into the wind and finally a crosswind shot and all in the space of three holes.
The greens are all quite small. Some are flat, some sloping and others with tricky breaks and borrows. They come into their own in the fine summer conditions.
