Flexible self catering accommodation from small families to large groups

Luxury self catering holiday villa on the edge of Archerfield Golf Course and close to North Berwick and Gullane. Close to the best beaches and Championship golf courses of Muirfield and Gullane, yet less than half an hour by train or car to the centre of Edinburgh. Enjoying a rural location close to beaches and golf, yet a short walk to the village inns/shop.

Yellowcraig is a superb 8 bedroom property - the perfect property to accommodate a large group of guests. All bedrooms have luxury en-suite bathrooms or shower rooms. Catering in the villa is available as an optional extra - home cooked Scottish specialities using carefully sourced local ingredients such as North Berwick lobster, crab and shrimp; East Lothian salmon and trout, Aberdeen Angus beef, venison from the nearby estates; Ballencrieff pork and gammon and of course award-winning haggis. We are also able to receive internet grocery orders and provide wine and Scotch malt whisky tasting events to wash everything down.

Sleeping arrangements - main house: Ground floor:

(1) Double bedroom with en-suite shower room, doubling as ground floor WC/shower room.

First floor:

(2) Master bedroom with a super king-sized bed and a luxury en-suite bathroom with waterproof TV facing the free-standing bath. Further large flat screen TV facing the bed. This bedroom can accommodate a further single bed if required.

(3) Double bedroom with a king-sized bed, single bed and en-suite shower room. Flat screen TV.

(4) A family en-suite bedroom with a double bed and a single bed. This room has great sea views of Fidra Island and the Isle of May beyond.

(5) Large bedroom en-suite with three single beds and en-suite bathroom and shower.

Second floor:

(6) Family bedroom with a double bed and a single bed with an en-suite full luxury bathroom. Views of Dirleton Castle

Sleeping arrangements - Granny Flat: For the largest groups, there is a generously proportioned Granny Flat above the triple garage block next to the house. The Granny Flat has its own open plan kitchen (fully equipped and with all mod cons), dining and living room space with a dining table and 6 chairs, three 3-seater sofas (one of which is a double sofa bed) and flat screen TV. The Granny Flat also has two additional bedrooms as follows:

(1) Twin zip and link beds (so the two singles can be combined to form one super king size bed) with en-suite shower room and WC

(2) Double bedroom with en-suite shower room and WC

Outdoors:

There is a private garden with a very large grassed lawn, trampoline and a paved BBQ patio area with a gas BBQ and outside seating. Private access gate to John Muir Walk pathway.

Yellowcraig House has a large front garden with a parking area for up to 12 cars and to the rear the property has a larged lawned garden and a patio area for outside dining.

Other Features: Kitchen: stunning brand new kitchen with Miele cooking appliances - two gas hobs, two stainless steel ovens, a microwave and a steam oven. Large American style fridge freezer and a separate wine fridge located under the kitchen island. Large granite-topped kitchen island with sink and kettle boiler seats 6. Access out on to the private back garden, patio and barbecue.

Utility Room: large utility room off the kitchen fully equipped with two washing machines, a tumble dryer and additional sink

Sitting room: there is a spacious sitting room with a large open fire, television with Satellite (Sky) and a DVD player

Dining room: formal dining room to seat 12 with access directly out to the private back garden

TV snug: the TV snug is the perfect area for keeping those young at heart entertained! Satellite (Sky) TV, DVD player, Playstation 2, Wii with a full kit for Guitar Hero. Music can be piped throughout the house.

Sitting next to Yellowcraig House is the garage block with a lovely modern loft-style 'Granny Flat' above the garages, accessed via an external staircase at the far end of the block. The property has vaulted ceilings throughout, with 2 good sized bedrooms (double and twin or two doubles) and a large open plan kitchen/dining and lounge area. The kitchen is fully equipped and has all mod cons including electric oven, 4 ring gas hob, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher and kitchen sink. The dining area has a dining table and chairs to seat 6 and a sideboard storing cutlery, table mats and condiments. There are 3 leather sofas in the lounge area, with a large flat screen TV (Freeview digital channels) and DVD player. Wireless Broadband is included free of charge.

EXCELLENT, SPACIOUS, ACCOMMODATION.

This was a lovely place to stay. Very comfortable, with a large kitchen, dining and lounge area. Spacious bedroom for kids and their own en suite was a bonus. Short walk to sandy Yellowcraigs beach, which leads to North Berwick for a slightly longer walk. Loads to do in the area or you can have a quite "get away from it all" type break as well. Plenty of good eating places in the area if you fancy a meal out. Thoroughly recommended.

PERFECT!

We stayed at the Loft for 2 nights as we had a wedding on the Archerfield Estate. The house was tastefully decorated, spacious and spotless. The rooms were a good size. The design and layout of the Loft is perfect. We could easily spend a week's holiday here. The owners were very helpful and had even stocked the fridge with provisions. We would love to come back and stay for longer so we could explore the area next time.

LUXURY APARTMENT WITH HOME FROM HOME FEEL

We were very lucky to find such a beautiful apartment to stay in for 2 weeks whilst waiting to move into our new house. The location is beautiful and ideally situated for visiting Edinburgh and throughout East Lothian. The apartment itself was very tastefully furnished and decorated, absolutely spotlessly clean and well maintained. There was a lovely touch of a welcome pack with goodies in which just showed how much Eric and Heather care for their guests. The loft had everything we needed and more and truly was like a home from home. It is spacious, yet homely and very very comfortable so its very easy to relax in these beautiful surroundings. Heather and Eric go above and beyond what you would expect from owners with Heather offering to walk the dogs for me when my partner was called back abroad unexpectedly and I had to work.I would also get a phone call from them now and again to check I was ok, which was comfortingly reassuring. They even let me get mail delivered to their home! I highly recommend this stunning loft apartment for a luxury get away from it all break. Heather and Eric - thank you so much for everything, you eased what was quite a stressful time for me and I truly felt looked after. We hope to have a big family reunion early next year so I will be in touch about renting your beautiful house...!!!

It's the location that really makes Yellowcraig Loft special, though - less than half an hour to the centre of Edinburgh but just a few minutes walk to feel some sand between your toes on one of the finest beaches in Scotland - Yellowcraig. Our guests have also been enjoying the new facilities recently opened within the Archerfield Estate, such as the £3m Fletcher's Cottage Spa and the microbrewery and cafe/deli in the Walled Garden, so you can have that relaxing break without having to venture too far. GREAT HOME BASE FOR THE AREA!

Our family enjoyed a stay over Easter weekend, and it was a perfect spot to explore Edinburgh and the surrounding area. There was a train station just a few minutes' drive away that took us straight into Edinburgh, which worked out really well. The beach is just a 10-15 minute walk away, with a playground along the way for the children to enjoy. The apartment was supplied with everything we needed for the long weekend, including linens, soaps, a very well-equipped kitchen, a washer and dryer (which was a lifesaver for our family of 7!), two bathrooms, large spacious rooms, wifi, etc. The apartment was very clean and the owners were extremely helpful, both in our planning and preparations, and in helping us on our arrival and throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend to others, and my only regret was that we didn't have more time there. We will definitely return if we have the opportunity!

Both bedrooms overlook the wood at the bottom of the garden and provide an opportunity to spot the local wildlife such as deer, pheasants, foxes and a myriad of birdlife. Bedroom 1 has twin zip/link beds that can be configured as 2 singles or a superking size. Bedroom 2 has a comfortable large double bed. Both bedrooms have Freeview TV, ample hanging and drawer space for storing clothed and bedside tables with reading lamps. In the lounge, there are three good sized leather sofas, one of which is a comfortable double sofa bed with a quality thick mattress - ideal for putting up additional guests.
