Globe Theatre: The Globe Theatre is a faithful reconstruction of the open-air playhouse, first built in 1599, where Shakespeare worked and for which he wrote many of his greatest plays.
Each year the theatre season runs from April to October with productions of work by Shakespeare and his contemporaries, as well as modern writers. Each year over 350,000 members of the audience experience the 'wooden O' sitting in a gallery or standing as a grounding in the yard, just as they would have done 400 years ago.

Outside of the UK the Globe will be taking a small scale tour of the US with The Comedy of Errors, in November.
Theatre performances in the main theatre will recommence on 21 April 2012 with the opening of Globe to Globe.

The SouthBank is one of London's premier locations in terms of arts and museums from the National Film Theatre and the South Bank Centre. Walk across the Millenium Bridge walkway to St Pauls Cathedral or carry on toward London Eye. Cross over here for Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square and toward Buckingham Palace.
London Bridge is also one of the main British Rail hubs with a good underground link to the Northern Line and Jubillee lines.
