About Sue & Alan
We live in Cheshire the UK but like to spend as much time as we can in our holiday home in A dos Negros. The village, Obidos & the surrounding area are very beautiful & we can always find something different to do each time we visit. We enjoy walking, swimming & sightseeing so Villa Arnoia is ideal for us.
Sue & Alan purchased this villa in 2008
Why Sue & Alan chose Obidos Town
We came across this village while travelling round & fell in love with both the village & the house & build quality. We wanted something with relaxing views, within easy reach of beautiful Obidos & restaurants & yet in a peaceful place. We also wanted a home that we could easily have maintained when we are not in Portugal & that we could furnish with touches of luxury both for our holidays & for the benefit of our guests.
What makes this villa unique
The unique benefits to us is that everything we might want, beaches, restaurants, wineries & sightseeing are within easy reach & yet we can still sit on the relaxing terrace enjoying peace & quiet & beautiful views of the rural landscape or the night sky in an evening & feel any stresses just drifting away. I think the views from the terrace are something we will never tire of. The people living in the village are very friendly & make us welcome. The quality of the restaurants in the nearby localities is excellent but equally we like to purchase the wonderful fresh produce from one of the many local markets & prepare a meal in our well kitted out kitchen & dine in.
Guestbook comments from the owner
My 4 friends and I stayed at the Villa Arnoia, in September 2013. The closest town is the historic, bustling market town of Obidos which is packed with historical charm and only a five minute drive away. There are some delightful circular walks from the property and plenty to see and do just a short car drive away.
The bright, stylishly furnished property is situated in the elevated small village of A dos Negros. Close by is a village store and three local bars. It has magnificent panoramic views from the rear lounge, bedrooms and patio and a shared swimming pool on the lower level. The pool is next to the villa and the week we were there no one else used it so felt like our own private pool.
The villa is well proportioned and with an en-suite bathroom, family bathroom and downstairs toilet, we never had to queue! The balcony is large and the kitchen is well equipped, the coffee maker being a fun addition.
We would highly recommend the Villa, Sue and Alan are extremely helpful owners and did everything possible to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, so much so that we are booking again for this year.
