Quiet and Sunny, Ideal Location, Walk to the Beach

My husband and I originally booked into another hotel. However, after our room was unavailable, the hotel rebooked us into a nearby hotel of a much worse quality. Not wanting to put a dampener on our long Easter weekend break, we spent the afternoon searching for alternative options. Thankfully, we found Gregg's port apartment, which had great amenities and was priced similarly to the hotel we were checking out of.

Gregg was fantastic and very accommodating. Another couple had only just checked out of the apartment that day, but he was able to arrange for the cleaner to come earlier so we'd be able to check in the following day ASAP.

While our first hotel was in a convenient, but more touristy area (just off Avenue Jean Medecin), the port apartment was perfectly situated. The nearby Place Girabaldi has a lovely chocolatier, brasserie and large Monoprix. We loved having a kitchen to take advantage of all the lovely French produce and cook our own breakfast and dinner nearly every day. Cooking our own food was more cost effective, making the apartment even better value.

The bathroom was a little small, but worked fine for us. The height of the shower might be an issue for anyone much taller than 6', but wasn't problematic for us (I'm 5'6" and my husband is 5'11"). The flat is at the top of the building, which provided great views. A lift is available, but we chose to use the stairs in an effort to burn off some of the delicious baguettes and macarons we enjoyed throughout our stay!

The Port Apartment was clean, comfortable and characteristic. The location is perfect for everything that is required for a stress free holiday. A 2 minute walk from Garibaldi Square, perfect for sitting around in the evenings for a meal or drink, and also the place for trams and buses which run very regular and are the cheapest way to get around, A bus to Monaco was 1 Euro. The Old Market is a definate must do, its fantastic and only a short walk away. Will definately be going back.

We have stayed in many self-catering accommodations and we were happy with this apartment. It was comfortable and the bed mattress was great. The kitchen was spacious for a small apartment. There is a huge park just behind the apartment which is now probably our favorite park in France, with beautiful views of the sea and a waterfall and ancient ruins. The lift was very helpful as the apartment is on the top floor, but our only minor complaint is that the lift was a bit small if more than three people use it.
