Photos and Description of the Indre-et-Loire vacation rental Self-catering or chambres d'hotes sleeps 8-10 plus baby

Recently renovated French farmhouse. Ground floor consists of fitted kitchen with fridge, dishwasher and microwave oven, large dining room and a large sitting room with TV, video & DVD (there is also another TV, DVD & video in dining room)and log fire. There is also a bathroom with overhead shower and WC and also a laundry room with sink and washing machine. 1st floor consists of 4 bedrooms - 2 double rooms (1 en suite), two twin bedded rooms and two separate shower rooms with WC. There is a large double bed sofa in sitting room and there is also a cot and another single bed available if needed. All bed linen, towels, fuel and cleaning included in price.

La Bertiniere d'antan is set in a small hamlet 700metres from the Route Nationale. All the advantages of the french countryside with all the advantages of nearby villages and towns. There are many beautiful raods and paths where you and your family (children) can walk or cycle in safety and see many species of wild life particular to this area. The townof Perrusson is 5 minutes away withits Supermarche and Bars and Loches, with its beautiful walled city, Royal Logis, cafes, resturants, shope and market is only 10 minutes away. The many Chateaux of the Loire are within easy drive - 2o minutes to Montresor, 25 minutes to Amboise and Chennonceaux and many, many more. Enjoy a 'degustation at the many vinyards of the Loire, Chinon, Anjou, Vouvery, Montlouis and many more. Our favourite is Antione Simoneau at St George sur Cher.

Notes: There are two gardens, both enclosed (child friendly) and each has its own BBQ and ample space for outside dining. There is a plunge pool in the rear garden with swings for the children. Safe car parking to rear and side of house.

Activities in easy reach: The house is situated in the heart of the French countryside ideally situated for walking (the forest of Verneuil is less than 5 minutes away and the forest of Loches 10 minutes away). There is fishing locally at the village of Bridore and the local rivers. Golf is only 5 minutes away at the superb 9 hole golf course at Verneuil-sur-Indre, a course that is twinned with St Andrews in Scotland. There are some beaches on the local river with safe swimming. There are also beaches, swimming, sailing and other water activities only a twenty minute drive in the Forest of Brenne. If you enjoy cycling, there are many safe routes that you spend hours exploring. Whatever your favourite activity you will find it within easy reach of this house.

Chateaux within easy reach: If you prefer exploring chateaux, we have our own at Bridore and are within easy reach of all the favourites of the region. 10 minutes away is Loches ,with its pretty town and Citadel containing the Royal Logis, 30 minutes to Amboise with its famous Chateau and Clos with a superb Sunday Market, 30 minutes from Chenenncoux. There are so many to see it is impossible to list them all in this small space. There are also delightful vineyards offering 'degustation' (wine tasting, which is usually free) within a 20-30 minutes drive. Antoine Simmoneau at St George-sur -Cher is one of our favourites , offering degustation, tours of the caves, lovely gifts and of course very good wines. The family are very welcoming and love to talk about the history of their vineyard and wines.
