Patrick and I have lived in the beautiful town of Homer for 25 years. We came up to work in our 20's and never left! Neither of us had ever lived by the ocean growing up but once we saw the beauty of Kachemak Bay, the glaciers and mountains; we were here to stay! The small town community with it's abundance of wildlife, green space and friendly people has been the perfect place to raise our children and start our own businesses. We are an outdoors family--our free time is spent fishing and camping in the summer and skating and skiing in the winter. This area truly has everything that we enjoy. We hope our guests can experience Homer and have the vacation of their dreams!
The Owner purchased this house in 2005
When this beautiful home came up for sale, we immediately put in an offer (in front of the other 5 people rushing to their real estate agents) within a couple of days of going on the market. The views from East End Road are some of the best in Homer with the convenience of being close to town and within a mile of Kachemak Drive; a short cut to the Homer Spit without having to travel through town. Homer is known as the "Fishing Capital of the World" and many charter operations and wildlife tours are available on the Homer Spit. Two of the finest restaurant in Homer are located within minutes of our house, both offering fine seafood and full bars. The house is situated on 4 landscaped acres, ensuring a feeling of space and tranquility.
We love the huge lawn and beautiful flowers that surround the house. With a large lawn, in a rural setting, local bird and wildlife such as Sandhill cranes and moose are easily visible. The large deck is perfect for socializing and enjoying the fabulous views. Inside, the open floor plan on the main floor gives you a good feeling of space and is plenty of room for a large group. The huge picture windows brings the view inside and personally, I love the large window in front of the sink in the kitchen!
Thank you for the beautiful home for us to share with our family. We are looking forward to coming back. We will most definitely call to reserve with you. Great place!
Me, my wife and her cusin had to go to Ninilchick Alaska for a funeral and we did have a place to stay because every place around there was booked up in that area. So I went searching for a place somewhat close by and ran across this house in homer. It looked to good to be true. We showed up late on a Thursday night after driving in snow from anchorage and we were beat. We pulled up to the house and opened the door and WOW, what a nice house. We were very happy with our stay at the house. And the price was very reasonable for what it is. The people who own the house were very nice to talk to and very responsive with there emails. If we do ever make it back up to Alasksa, this will be the first house to chose to stay at. Thanks for everything.
My husband and I chose Homer as our vacation spot to spend with our son
who lives in Anchorage. We are glad we did, quirky little town with beautiful views.
And this lovely home had the best views of all, quiet, clean, and had lots of space
for the three of us. We are telling our friends about it and if we return to Homer
we will for sure stay here again. The owners were gracious and kind and were prompt to respond with a couple of inquiries we had. Lots of good places to eat, and galleries to visit, trails.
were close and views magnificent.
My husband and I visited from Waco, Texas for our 25th wedding anniversary and stayed at this B & B for three days in September. The home was exactly the way it was pictured on the website. Not only was the home beautiful inside and out, including the immaculately kept grounds around the house, but the view was even more so. The house was everything we expected and more. We even appreciated that the washer/dryer were available for our use. The owners made us feel right at home. We would recommend this B & B to anyone traveling to Alaska.
Everything was clean and just perfect. We had a company fishing trip in Homer and had the owner of our company plus 2 clients stay here. The home is top notch and communicating with the owner was easy. We'll be back!
Comfortable home with beautiful views of Homer & Kachemak Bay. Not as secluded as we thought based on description and pictures but absolutely a perfect place to vacation. Would totally recommend this property to anyone wanting to spend time in the Homer area.
Located around five miles past the center of Homer, this house is a wonderful place to spend a few days while visiting the Seward Peninsula.
The house by itself is great, perfectly clean and equipped with everything you’d need for your stay. As soon as you get in, you’ll discover with big open space. Here are: the living room with a big new flat screen TV (even though the picture quality is subpar), the dining room, the kitchen. Upstairs is another bedroom (with a very comfortable bed) and a bathroom.
What makes this house really great – apart from the great features inside – is the amazing view on the Kachemak Bay. You can enjoy it from inside or from the outside deck. You’ll never get tired of this. I would definitely recommend this house.
