A new and very well equipped apartment for self catering in the village of Santa Luzia, right in the heart of the Ria Formosa - natural protected area, with privileged views. Ideal for a holiday away from all the crowded places of Algarve, calm village with restaurants, shops and beaches close by. Distancing only 3km from the historical town of Tavira, where you can tour and access more bars, shops and restaurants. The apartments terrace, 100sq meters, is ideal for lounging, barbecues (brick BBQ) and children to play. It takes the sun all day long so you can unwind, use the communal pool or just appreciate the views. If you prefer the beach this location is wonderful because you have access to the most beautiful white sand, award winning beaches of Terra Estreita and Barril, on the island of Tavira, by taking a water taxi or by small gauge railway across the Ria Formosa.

Also a great area for most sports and activities, surfing, kite surfing, boat trips, canoeing, fishing, walking, cycling, golf, bird watching, touring and many others. If you want to relax and stay home, apartment equipped with dual satellites for access to all European and English TV channels, selection of DVD/CD, books and games.

The location is also ideal as a base for longer excursions up and down the coast, 25 minutes away from Faro airport and 20 minutes away from the border with Spain. With only a 5 minute drive you can access the nearest Golf course and with a longer drive you can access many other courses.

Spacious, comfortable and just great!

This is our 8th visit to Santa Luzia and our second stay in this lovely apartment. We have stayed in 5 other apartments which have been good, but this is the best. We stayed there two years ago and decided this was the one for us. It has recently been refurbished making it even more comfortable. The spacious terrace has sun all day and areas of shade. It was wonderful weather when we were there and we were glad to have both options available. Should the weather be bad the lounge is very light and comfortable with plenty of books, dvd's and a great range of UK tv channels. The caretakers of the apartment - Jo and Roy, were excellent and friendly, able to help out with things we'd forgotton to bring.
Needless to say we love the resort and our favourite restaurants include Casa do Aabade and Vincents, although everywhere we ate was very good. Casa do Polvo hold a Fado evening on Thursdays but this year it wasn't on when we were there. It's a great experience.There is a small patisseri on the front of the village which have lovely bread rolls and cakes, very reasonable priced.
We managed well without a car as the walk to Tavira and the beach are fine and the little supermarket down past the church had everything you needed.
All in all a great place to stay and holiday. Can't wait to go back.

A lovely stay, with lots of space

We really enjoyed our ten day stay in this apartment.
It has everything you need for a relaxing, stress-free holiday. The apartment has lots of light and air when you need it, but can be switched to darkness at the push of a button, really useful.
It's close to good restaurants, bars, shops and two of the best beaches in the Algarve.
Peace and plenty of sunshine when we visited. Just what we wanted.

Great Apartment

Spacious, clean apartment, well equiped in lovely Santa Luzia. Terrace very large with large BBQ & amazing views. A few minutes walk from the seafront where you can get the ferry across to the beach or about a mile the other way you can get the little train. Lots of restaurants/cafes with great seafood. Few minutes drive into Tavira for a larger town & only about 30 mins east to the Spainish border. If you need something more to entertain kids there are 2 large waterparks an hours drive west & also the Pera sand sculptures which are well worth a visit.
Great communication with Hugo during booking. Would definitely return.

Large sunny apartment

We really enjoyed our stay in the quiet fishing village of Santa Luzia with nice restaurants and cafés. Fantastic view from the large terrace of the apartment, clean, very well equipped, exactly as described. Easy access to the fantastic sandy beaches about 30mins walk, we could also access by the little train or the ferry boat. Centrally located to visit the area, completely different from the Western part of Algarve. We will certainly come back.

St Luzia apartment

We stayed in this lovely apartment for two weeks and it was just perfect. Loved the apartment, the terrace and the village and also the lovely beaches accessed either by ferry or a little train - although from the train it is only about a 13 minute walk to the best beach. Nice restaurants and cafes in the village and very close proximity to greater range of shops in Tavira with some lovely restaurants. John Rowley was very helpful and I just couldn't fault the place.

PERFECT PLACE TO STAY IN A CUTE FISHING TOWN!!!!

We had a wonderful stay here. Hugo and John we great to laise with. We were 2 hours late and this was no problem. The house had everything we needed and was perfectly clean. I would highly reccomend staying here : )
