A 2 bed and 2 bathroom flat in a purpose-built building off St Pauls with good sized bedrooms. The property is ideally located for the City or St Barts with easy access to the West End and a short walk to SouthBank.

The two bedroomed flat is offered in exceptional condition throughout and enjoying a generous en suite master bedroom with fitted wardrobes, a private balcony and a fabulous location ideal for Smithfields Market, the City and Covent Garden.

The property also comprises reception room with ample dining space, contemporary semi-open-plan kitchen, a second bedroom and a separate bathroom.

The property is ideally located just moments from a whole host of local amenities in addition to the fabulous Smithfield market, St Paul's Cathedral and the many surrounding fashionable bars and restaurants. The nearest underground stations are St Paul's (Central Line) and Farringdon (Circle Line).

The City is 5 min walk, Bartholomew Close and the Law Courts nearby and the history of London's Roman ancestry all around. The Millenium Bridge walkway leads from St Paul's across the river.

St Pauls Cathedral: Located within 300m, the present St Paul's is the fifth cathedral to have stood on the site since 604, and was built between 1675 and 1710, after its predecessor was destroyed in the Great Fire of London. This was the first cathedral to be built after the English Reformation in the sixteenth century, when Henry VIII removed the Church of England from the jurisdiction of the Pope and the Crown took control of the Church's life.

Among the events marked at St Paul's are royal occasions. In 1897 Queen Victoria chose to commemorate her diamond jubilee here. More recently Queen Elizabeth II has celebrated her jubilees at St Paul's , and also her 80th birthday in 2006. Royal weddings have been held here as well: the marriage of Catherine of Aragon to Prince Arthur in 1501 and famously the wedding of HRH the Prince of Wales to Lady Diana Spencer in 1981.

Millenium Bridge from St Pauls to Tate Modern: The Millennium Bridge, officially known as the London Millennium Footbridge, is a steel suspension bridge for pedestrians crossing the River Thames in London, England, linking Bankside with the City. It is located between Southwark Bridge (downstream) and Blackfriars Railway Bridge (upstream). The bridge is owned and maintained by the Bridge House Estates, a charitable trust overseen by the City of London Corporation. Construction of the bridge began in 1998, with the opening on 10 June 2000.

The southern end of the bridge is near Globe Theatre, the Bankside Gallery and Tate Modern, the north end next to the City of London School below St Paul's Cathedral. The bridge alignment is such that a clear view of St Paul's south facade is presented from across the river, framed by the bridge supports.

The Barbican Centre : The Barbican Centre is the largest performing arts centre in Europe.[1] Located in the City of London, England, the Centre hosts classical and contemporary music concerts, theatre performances, film screenings and art exhibitions. It also houses a library, three restaurants, and a conservatory. The London Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra are based in the Barbican Centre's concert hall.

Perfect location for London City

  • 5 of 5
The apartment was a great size and great value. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. It felt like home, clean, comfortable and spacious. It was within walking distance of many historical sites as well as the business district. There are lots of pubs around that serve food at night but there are not a lot of restaurants in the area as it is the business district. There is a big shopping centre nearby as well, and the underground was super convenient.

Good Location But Needs Some Adult Supervision

  • 3 of 5
We've been to London many times and usually rent a flat for our stay. This particular flat is fine for two adult couples. It's on the ground floor, with only a few steps up from the street.

I don't usually whine about the flats we rent, but perhaps my comments will help future guests. This flat had two problems:

First, the beds and bedding need to be replaced and upgraded. Mattresses don't last forever, and the blankets and pillows provided really aren't sufficient to the task.

Second, the kitchen in this flat was nearly stripped -- none of the basics you can normally expect were present: no salt/pepper, sugar, paper towels, only one extra roll of toilet paper, no paper napkins, no basic spices. We spent about US$100 our first morning just to get the basics. I've seen this before once or twice -- usually in flats that are rental units only (the owner doesn't live there when it's not rented out).

Don't get me wrong -- this is a good, serviceable flat for two couples. The location is fine, just north of St. Paul's. It was clean and -- except as noted above -- ready to go. Just understand what to expect when you get there!

Wonderful neighborhood and apartment near Smithfield Market/Clerkenwell/Islington

  • 5 of 5
The "two-bedroom/two bath flat off St. Paul's cathedral" apartment was ideal for our family of 2 adult couples staying there for a week. Its central location allowed us to walk to every site we were interested in visiting (from Borough Market to Tate Modern and the National Theater to the British Museum and Library), and return "home" at night to a quiet street only minutes away from lively pubs and restaurants and several tube lines. It was well arranged for maximum privacy, clean and well maintained and secure with safe access at all hours. Our only complaint would be that the dryer in the washer/dryer combination was not working and it only proved a problem since we had packed, thinking that we would be able to refresh our clothes mid-week. Sophie made the rental process easy and reassuring and Lidiana was so helpful at check-in and check-out, orienting us to the apartment and neighborhood and making arrangements for a taxi to the airport upon arrival and departure. We always felt we could contact them in case of emergency and they would respond. I would highly recommend this apartment and would definitely stay there again on another trip to London.

Owner's Response: Dear Marsha,

Many thanks for taking the time to write a review, it is very important to us as this helps maintain standards. I am sorry the washing machine/dryer failed during your stay, and we have now replaced it with a brand new one.
Thanks again, and you are welcome back anytime.

Lovely apartment - great location

  • 4 of 5
We stayed in this apartment for a long weekend this spring and found it ideal for our needs. It was comfortable, very clean and well equipped and perfect for our party (2 adults and 2 children).

The location is great in a quite backstreet near St. Pauls within walking distance of the business district and a number of underground stations. The area nearby is quite but has plenty of bars, shops and restaurants.

Both Sophie and Lidiana were great to deal with and particularly flexible with regard to our early arrival and late departure.

This apartment is a great alternative to a hotel for a short stay in central London.

Very nice stay

  • 4 of 5
The flat was very nice and functional. Linens, beds and furniture were clean and comfortable. All items as advertised. One clarification is the Internet access is per a dongle and not by a wifi router.

The location is very convenient. Near two tube stations and bus lines running very late into the early morning hours. Also close to shopping stores, food shops, and right next to a hospital just in case:).

The communication channel, checking in and out was very professional. All my questions were taken care of. Lidiana met me at the tube station and showed us to the flat.

I would recommend flatsinlondon for a holiday rental.
