We propose to you to spend your self catering holidays and relax in Sarlat, the heart of one of the nicest regions of France, Perigord Noir. A region of rivers, forests, caves, castles and of course gastronomy. Sarlat is one of best preserved and most beautiful mediaeval towns in France. Architectural jewel with its cobble stoned streets, 11 – 17 century houses with stone roofs, squares and fountains. During July and august, Sarlat is host to the Festival with concerts (classical and pop music), theatre, exhibitions, street entertainment (very popular with children) and much more. Les Cedres estate (2 acres) is situated in a quiet area, approximately 600 meters from the centre of historical/mediaeval town of Sarlat. It consists of the owner’s house, one villa and one apartment; all surrounded by mature gardens and private forest. Although in town, you’ll feel like you are staying in the country. All amenities (supermarket, bank, etc) are no more than five-minutes-walk away.

Villa Les Cedres (67m², two bedrooms) Three Stars Villa, detached house with all comforts, is situated at the border of a forest. The villa is ideal for four persons, but can accommodate six: there is a sofa-bed in the sitting room. Bed linen and towels are provided on the weekly basis. The terrace, with a BBQ, is overlooking the gardens and swimming pool area. The swimming pool (9.6m x 4.8m) with the ‘pool-house’ is securely fenced. The villa consists of: hall, sitting/dining room, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, ground floor bedroom with double bed, first floor bedroom with two single beds. The villa was recently renovated and tastefully furbished. Heating is provided during the winter (electric heating). Television (with a number of English language channels) and DVD are also provided. Private and secure parking is provided for two cars.

Les Cedres is situated in the town of Sarlat. However, it is in a quiet area, surrounded by large gardens and private forest. It is a tranquil location, for relaxing on site, and an ideal base for sightseeing trips around Perigord Noir. Visit the Bastide of Domme and admire the views. Take a boat trip on the Dordogne at Le Roque Gageac. See the village of Beynac with the castle fit for a king (Richard the Lion Heart lived there for a while), the Chateaux of Castlenaud and Fenelon, the prehistoric sites of Les Eyzies and Lascaux. Admire the beautiful gardens of Marqueyssac and Eyrignac. Try Canoeing on the Dordogne river, Cycling, horse riding, outdoor adventure parks, even ballooning! All this and more, all within 30 minutes drive. For shopping there is Sarlat with its numerous shops and restaurants. Every Wednesday and Saturday, there is a market with Foie Gras and walnuts, wine and Cheeses. A bit further away are Rocomadour, Guffre de Padirac and much more.

Welcome: We would like to make your stay at Les Cedres as enjoyable, relaxing and pleasant as possible. We shall welcome you on your arrival and share with you a platter of local gourmet specialties (fois gras, magret de canard and cabecou) together with a glass or two of the local wine. Over the snack we shall be happy to answer any queries you may have.

Assistance: We live on site, so should you need any assistance, you may contact us at any time.

Cycling: We have three bicycles which you may use free of charge. Around Sarlat there are special “piste cyclable” for push-bikes only. There is a badmintpn court in the garden, and we provide rackets and shuttlecocks. Equally, we provide one basketball stand and ball.

Golf: There are a number of golf courses within 30 minutes drive. Our next door neighbour is the president of one of them!

Other Activities: canoing, adventure PARC, hot air ballooning, helicopter/plane sight-seeing, tourist train, boat trip on the Dordogne

A Dordogne gem

From the moment you are greeted with a glass of wine and a selection of the finest local specialities by wonderful hosts Milos, Rosemary and George, Les Cedres is the perfect family getaway.
The villa is set in truly stunning and peaceful grounds which kept our two little ones happy for hours. The photos on the website do not do the gardens justice.
And then there is the fenced off pool. Without doubt this is the safest pool at any villa we have ever rented - brilliant.
The villa is superbly equipped and stayed cool, despite temperatures in the mid 30s.
And all this is a 10 minute walk from the beautiful town of Sarlat and very short drives to several of the region's top attractions.
The immaculate presentation of Les Cedres, together with its location, facilities and warmly welcoming hosts, makes it as close to rental perfection in this price budget as you can get. Highly recommended.

Outstanding Property; Outstandin Owners

We could not have been more pleased with our stay at Les Cedres in Sarlat. Everything about the entire reservation process and the property was outstanding.

We were met after a long drive from Paris by Milos, Rosemary, and their son George and invited into their home for a leisurely welcoming repast of local meats, fromage, bread, and wines. It felt as if we were long-lost family members! Milos, Rosemary, and George gave us excellent suggestions about what to see and do, as well as very accurate restaurant suggestions. Be certain to go to what Milos describes as the "Piggy Restaurant". We exchanged backgrounds (theirs was very interesting) and interests around their dining table.

We rented the villa. It was extremely comfortable, very clean, and very well-appointed and furnished. The grounds were beautiful, and we felt as if the villa was very private. The description on the website was very accurate.

During our stay, Milos welcomed me into his study to use his own computer to read and respond to email and allowed me to use his telephone. He and Rosemary made me feel that it was not an imposition at all.

Many times, Milos and Rosemary asked if there was anything further that they could do to make our stay comfortable.

The reservation process was easy, and Milos always responded to inquiries very promptly.

We recommend this property to anyone without reservation. If we have the opportunity to return to Sarlat, we definitely will stay here. I would rearrange my travel dates around the availability of this rental.

An idyllic retreat!

Having spent a week in the Apartment last year, we were looking forward to returning once again to a wonderful warm welcome and a truly fantastic spot - we were not disappointed!

The Villa is without doubt a brilliant holiday retreat. Having spent a considerable time exploring the delights of Sarlat and the surrounding area last year, we were keen to kick back and chill out - the Villa provided ample opportunity for us to do just that. The patio area is perfect to take advantage of the great weather - we had breakfast, lunch, dinner and BBQ over the course of the week - and it's wonderfully private.

Once again, the gardens and pool area were a highlight of the stay. Wildlife and birdlife abound. And you can really see the effort that goes into making it look so beautiful.

Sarlat is a a beautiful town and an ideal base from which to explore everything the Dordogne has to offer. The town bustles with activity all week, ranging from market days to street theatre, interesting shops and fabulous (great value!) restaurants.

We would not hesitate to recommend this wonderful apartment/villa and fully expect to return in the not too distant future! Our sincere thanks to Milos, Rosemary and George for making our holiday such a memorable one yet again.

Lovely villa in excellent location

We had a wonderful week at Milos and Rosemary's beautiful property in Sarlat. After a very warm welcome, we were pleased with the standard of accommodation and the villa was spotlessly clean. We spent the week visiting the beautiful countryside with its many chateaux, gardens and interesting villages and towns. There was also a memorable canoeing trip down the Dordogne, definitely recommended! You feel like you are in the countryside at the villa, it is so peaceful, but in fact you are 5 minutes away from a supermarket and we had several strolls into the centre of Sarlat, which is a great town to visit, especially on market days. Back at the villa, we didn't need to eat out bexause it is well equipped for self-catering and the barbecue and terrace area were well-used. A very relaxing hoilday - we wish we had booked for 2 weeks!

A lovely country cottage

The cottage is situated very close to the center of Sarlat, but in the quiet of a beautifully manicured garden. It is clean, well-equipped and very cozy. The owners are charming and discrete. A wonderful get-away.
