Sarlat la Caneda Vacation Rental apartment: Sarlat

Milos and Rosemary, thank you very much for a warm welcome and sharing your piece of paradise with us. It was a fantastic week and we all thoroughly enjoyed it, including our 8 month old baby.
The apratment was clean and cosy, furnished with all our little family needed, including 'baby stuff'. The garden was welcoming, and we even spotted a deer in there one evening!
Les Ceders are in perfect location - quiet and isolated but at the same time close to all amenities and a nice walk from the medieval city. It was so nice to sit on the porch and talk to our hosts over a glass of delicious local wine.
We would highly recommend Les Cedres to others.

Notre famille (2 adultes et 3 enfants) a passé un séjour très agréable dans la villa. La location est confortable, bien équipée et très propre. La situation géographique de la villa est remarquable puisque l'on peut rejoindre le centre ville de Sarlat en 10 minutes à pieds. Le très grand jardin et la piscine sécurisée constituent une aire de jeux formidable pour les enfants. Les propriétaires sont d'une très grande gentillesse, toujours présents pour satisfaire nos besoins.

Milos and Rosemary greeted us with plates of hors d'ouvres of magret de canard, cabecou cheese, quail eggs and a souvenir bottle Sarlat wine and a long, friendly chat around their table on the front porch that lasted far into the evening. After a long drive, it was a marvelous, unforgettable welcome. From the moment we arrived, the special kindness of our hosts made us feel like we had lived there for years. Sunday we even met Rosemary, walking on our way to town and it was like chat on the street with an old friend. She is most likeable. In their residence upstairs Milos helped us check e-mail and call our family in Colorado. They are thoughtful, kind and especially accommodating hosts and they made our stay special and memorable. You really do wish you could live next to them.
The apartment was spotlessly clean and spacious and exactly as described on the web site. It’s far enough from the busy main street to be quiet and peaceful. While the kitchen is a wee bit small, it’s functional, and truth is we really didn’t plan to prepare sumptuous meals in the apartment with such a wide variety of excellent restaurants within walking (or driving) distance in Sarlat. It was clean and had basic, necessary utensils and perfectly fit our modest needs.
It’s a steep walk down the hill (and of course, back up – but mercifully it’s not far) from the apartment to the very busy main road to Sarlat; from there about 10 minutes but worth the walk to shop the fabulous market days, twice a week
Sarlat is the perfect central location to visit a host of nearby chateaux like Fenelon, Castelnaud, Losse, Lanquais, Beynac, Hautefort, and the beautiful hanging gardens of Marqeyssac overlooking the Dordogne and still have time in the evening for dining in a really fine restaurant - we liked Auberge de Mirandol. There are multiple locations nearby to access the truly scenic Dordogne River and activities like canoeing or picnics.
After shopping or sight-seeing we spent relaxing afternoons and evenings taking a dip in the well-kept and clean pool. It’s small but very nice, with a shower and toilet facility right there inside the fence. The pool has an child-proof gate latch, easily opened by adults.
We do not hesitate to recommend this apartment; the hosts have obviously put a lot of time and effort into creating a first-rate facility.
