Enjoy one of the best beaches on Lake Michigan - summer or fall!
Located right on the shore of Lake Michigan in Good Hart Michigan, Blue Fish is now available for 2013. This is a comfortable two bedroom, one and a half bath cottage with a three twin bed sleeping loft, plus a walk-out, lakeview game room. It is available weekly from June through October.
Besides the beach, there are loads of things to do. Golf (including mini-golf) is available for duffers of all abilities. You can play the fantastic Ross or Heather courses at Boyne Highlands or just a round of 'barnyard' golf with the kids. The ferries to famous Mackinac Island are about 30 minutes away.
If you like to cook, the kitchen is well stocked with pots and utensils; there are excellent farm markets a few miles from Blue Fish. And, of course, there is great shopping and restaurants nearby in Harbor Springs and Petoskey.
Blue Fish is available on a WEEKLY basis, from Saturday to Saturday. Blue Fish is located on approximately 160 feet of sandy beach. Facing west, it offers beautiful views of Lake Michigan, Beaver Island and glorious sunsets with an occasional 'green flash'. There's also great wildlife and birds....deer, fox, eagles, ospreys, loons, pileated woodpeckers, etc. Bring your binoculars and watch the freighters and boats sail by.
The main living area has a vaulted ceiling with a two-story wall of windows facing Lake Michigan. There is a wood-burning fireplace flanked by comfortable furnishings that include a couch, love seat, two upholstered swivel chairs (the better to watch the sunsets), as well as occasional tables and generous lighting. A reversible direction ceiling fan provides great ventilation. Portable fans are also provided. A baby gate is in the cottage if you want to keep small children (or dogs!) on the main deck or from the lower level stairs.
For entertainment, there is a 42' color TV with a DVD player and a satellite connection, as well as a personal stereo unit with CD player. You can play your iPod thru the speaker system too. We now have high-speed, wireless internet connction in the cottage.
The dining table seats eight and is at the end of the main living area.
One bedroom has a king-size bed. The closet provides hanging space and a wire multi-drawer storage unit.
The second bedroom has two twin beds (can be converted to one king size upon request), each with two standard pillows. The closet provides hanging space and a wire multi-drawer storage unit.
The sleeping loft overlooks the main living area and has three twin beds (two can be converted to one king size upon request), each with two standard size pillows. There is hanging space for clothes and a multi-drawer wire rack and dresser. The loft is a great play area for children or a quiet spot with wonderful lake views.
The kitchen has an electric four-burner range/oven unit, double sink, full-size refrigerator with freezer compartment, microwave, toaster and coffeemaker. It is fully equipped with dishes, eating utensils and cooking equipment.
The main bathroom has one sink, toilet and tub/shower.
A hairdryer is provided. A half-bath is off the game room in the lower level.
The lower level (with views of the beach) is set up as a game room. There is a Foosball table, a game table with four chairs (good for card or board games or working jig-saw puzzles), a comfy couch and a satellite color television with a built-in VCR player.
Double doors lead to a wooden deck at ground level that has a Weber charcoal barbecue and outdoor chairs and table.
The main entrance door is located on the second level. There is a good-sized deck with a table and four chairs for dining al fresco; the deck extends to the front of the house for beautiful views of the beach with extra outdoor seating.
Stairs lead from the walkout lower level deck to the 160 foot sandy beach. The cottage is on what many think is the best stretch of beach in the greater Good Hart area. Great for rock hounds!
