Lecce City House Rental Photos and Description
Fascinating house with character, perfect for a holiday for a couple
The living area is located on the ground floor and consists of 1 master bedroom with 1 double bed, 1 dining room, 1 living room (with sofa bed), 1 kitchen, 1 bathroom, 2 WC (also with shower, a vegetable garden, and storage room. It has 2 entries.
My great grandfather bought this house to live with his family and to have a place to take up his favourite hobby: the terracotta. He was what we call in Lecce dialect a 'lu puparu,' and he created and painted by hand many types of statues, from saints to caricatures. He went to the vegetable garden with all his tools and materials, working on an old table (now restored and brought back into the living room) with the company of his imagination and a bottle of good red wine from Puglia!
This wonderful house dates back to the end of the seventeenth century and has been restored, keeping the walls with original exposed stones of Lecce and bringing back some of the floors of that period of time, with the original fixtures. The sculptures and walls of local stone embellish the charming environment, with splendid ceilings reaching 5 meters in height. The large spaces and the thick walls ensure a healthy and fresh living space. The furniture and equipment are high quality: a wrought-iron bed, a solid wood table, and marble floors at the kitchen.
This house offers everything: Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, heating system, LCD TV, washing machine, mosquito net, bicycles, and jewellery.
It is just a few steps from the historic centre of Lecce, reachable through the splendid arch of stone of Porta Napoli. You will find all services nearby: restaurants, pastries, bars, laundry, hardware store and many other shops.
Its history and location make this house the perfect place for a holiday in Salento.
