This house has been owned by us for over 40 years. The home was purchased in 1970 by our late mother and father, who brought all four of their children up in the house.

To all of us, as children, this was the only house we ever lived in, and offers fantastic memories throughout our lives.

Now that the house is vacant, we really hope to share this amazing house with others, so they too, and their children, can have lasting memories of a Suffolk country house.

HOME FROM HOME

  • 4 of 5
4 Adults & 4 Children and we didn't get under each other's feet at all as there is so much room in this house.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
The house is well equipped.
We loved the stunning views around the house and the large garden made for some great outdoor fun with the kids.
Easy to get to and plenty of walks.
Didn't manage to get a phone signal until about 2 miles up the road, but that was great for us as we wanted a proper "get away"

BEAUTIFUL HOUSE, BEAUTIFUL AREA AND GREAT HOSTS

  • 5 of 5
We had a wonderful long family weekend break at Windrush over May Bank Holiday and have come back chilled and relaxed.

The facilities were excellent and everything was provided from linen, towels and tea towels to the odd things you always forget like washing up liquid, herbs and cooking oil! They even have a playstation, plenty of DVDs and allow use of their computer!

Before our stay Paul had emailed with all the information we could wish for and provided great customer service before, during and after our stay!

The listing was all correct and the property is well maintained. It felt lived in with a nice family atmosphere so we weren't afraid to use it as we'd use our own house.

The gardens are very private and lead directly onto fields so you feel like you are living in the countryside in the middle of nowhere! Bliss! There are lots of lovely walks round and about and I recommend you walk down to the little church at the end of the road. Very pretty and hugely interesting.

The only piece of extra advice I'd offer is that if you are taking a dog, be aware that the garden is not fenced in so you'll have to watch him/her. We decided not to take our dog in the end but I know he would have loved it there. Perhaps next time?

We are definitely hoping to visit again. And if you read this, thanks for a lovely weekend Paul! x

EXCELLENT HOLIDAY HOUSE

  • 5 of 5
We stayed at Windrush for 2 weeks and had a wonderful time. The house is spacious and comfortable. The garden is lovely. There is a good range of books and games. The house really can accommodate 9 people in comfort.
The surrounding area is lovely countryside but with easy access to Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge. The weather is good. There are plenty of things to do (places to visits and lots of walks) and it was paradise for our dog.
The owners are very helpful. The only disadvantage of the house is the poor mobile signal.
We would definitely recommend the house to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday.

ABSOLUTE BRILLIANT PLACE

  • 5 of 5
Absolute brilliant place. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
The house is superbly equipped. Loads of room, plenty of sleeping accommodation (5 bedrooms with 3 en-suites). The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms are large and there's a real sense of space even when the house is full.
Everything was perfect and the style mixed modernity (very media friendly) with classic style.
We loved the stunning views around the house.
Very kids friendly. There are plenty of board games and a toys for all ages.
Dream home really. Easy to get to and plenty of walks.
We would definitely recommend this house and fully intend to return in the not too distant future.

AMAZING HOUSE

  • 4 of 5
This was an exceptional house. We were extremely happy. We had all the facilities for an amazing holiday. I must emphasise that house looks much better in reality than on photos. All the rooms are spacious, luxurious and tastefully decorated. The surroundings are beautiful, the garden is great especially for the visitors with children that required such a space.
Bury St. Edmunds is just 6 miles away with a great historical part of the town- cathedral and the Abbey gardens with 11th century ruins. As we went during bank holidays Moyse's hall Museum and Anglo Saxon Village were not open but this is definitely worth visiting.
