two bedroom, one bath cottage located on Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina - Just 25 minutes from downtown Charleston and 40 minutes from Kiawah Seabrook. Honduran heart of pine walls and floors - very peaceful and beautiful location of the low country - very private and not available but 15 weeks per year.
owner has weekend house on property.
Stayed here for a week for a girls getaway in June 2012. Everything was lovely. Sooo peaceful - take your coffee down to the dock in the morning and catch a glimpse of a dolphin. The screen porch is HUGE - we practically lived out there. Kitchen had everything we could need and the whole place was comfortable, clean and felt bigger than the actual sq ft. Vaulted ceilings in great room not shown in pics. When you're there, it's like taking a step back in time -feels very secluded - but at same time, a trip to the city for shopping and dinner was a short drive. The owner was charming and hospitable. Wish it was available more!
I cannot rave enough about this house and its owner. It is a beautiful house with all amenities in an absolutely wonderful location. We just loved our low country experience! It was so quiet and peaceful and yet downtown Charleston was a relatively short and pretty drive away and the Ashley River Road plantations were even closer. It was so relaxing to be able to swim off the dock every day and then sit on that wonderful porch of an evening - the only difficulty was choosing which chair to sit in! The owner was also exceptionally friendly and very accommodating, and it was a privilege to make his acquaintance. We especially loved that boat trip to see the dolphins. I would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation to anyone who wants to experience the low country and who enjoys a little solitude.
