Chateau de Servigny has a magnificent park of 20 acres and the interior of the Chateau is elegantly furnished with period antique furniture with all the modern comforts you could wish for. The Chateau witnessed the signing of the Treaty of Cherbourg between U.S. General Lawton Collins and German General Von Schlieben on June 26th 1944. Located between Cherbourg and Bayeux, located only 5 minutes by car from Valognes, one of the most beautiful towns in Normandy, reputed for its beautiful 18th century architecture. This 16th century Chateau is an ideal base to explore Bayeux the D-Day landing beaches, the Bayeux Tapestry, the Giverny garden and Le Mont Saint Michel. There is a lynx golf course at Fontenay nearby and a superb parkland course at Omaha Beach Golf Club Bayeux. Sleeps up to 15 people in comfort with 8 bedrooms and bathrooms.

The children could not stop saying “WOW”!

The children could not stop saying “WOW”! The villa was perfect in every way and well thought out. Very European but had every comfort that an American could want. Location was excellent and all services were performed perfectly. There was plenty to do and the weather was perfect. What more can you ask for?

She said there is no negative feed back. They loved the entire experience!

The Danish VIKINGS (read past Normans) are back again in Denmark and would like to express their gratitude for having the opportunity to rent your beautiful Chateau de Servigny.



We enjoyed every minute at the lovely and well restored castle & its environment and surroundings and we will recommend it to other Scandinavians with great pleasure.



Especially we would like to emphasis our charming hostess of the day, i.e. Francoise, who always was there and at the same time discreetly was not there. She is a great ambassador for you and we are very thankful to her!



In your guestbook, we tried to make a poem as well in French as English, but the shaky handwriting of the eldest of the Vikings – in casu the undersigned – were perhaps not legible, therefore the poem is repeated below.



Pour Familie de Pontac!



Il pleut sur la ville, comme il pleure dans mon coeur.

Quelle est cette langueur, qui penetre mon coeur.

Ah, qui belle est cette Chateau de Servigny

I am sorry for delay in writing to say how much we enjoyed our stay at Chateau Servigny. The entire family had a wonderful time in that very beautiful place. Everything was perfect. Francoise and Gwenelle (sp?) were both truly helpful and made our stay comfortable and well fed! You have done such a beautiful job on the Chateau itself with each room having an ensuite bathroom, wifi, and cable television. All the modern conveniences in an historical setting.
I will recommend Servigny to friends and I will not be surprised if you hear from them. Again, thank you, and best regards, Sheila

Fairy Tale Setting

Having stayed at Chateau de Servigny this June we can echo the sentiments of the American Embassay, and add a few comments. We brought our entire family (three generations) and had a truly exceptional experience in this fairy tale setting. The historical tours of the area, including the WWII sites, were fascinating, but simply staying here was a treat in itself, from swimming, cycling, and relaxing, to playing soccer on the lawn, or playing in the children's manor and engaging in an eleborate treasure hunt. It was a superb vacation and our hosts were extremely gracious. We hope to return.

Chateau de Servigny an unforgettable experience

Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality to the Defense Attaché Office during this past D-Day week here in Normandy. Everyone enjoyed the experience immensely and will remember the visit for the rest of their lives.

To those other Americans considering leasing some sort of chateau or staying at a B&B for an experience in Normandy, I can strongly recommend the Chateau de Servigny as an unforgettable experience that is absolutely enjoyable. Arnaud and Berengere are as kind and honest as one could ever expect to encounter. The others that work at the chateau are also just top notch personnel - very helpful, kind, and considerate; they represent the very best of the French people. The chateau is in impeccable shape and offers many amenities for everyone to enjoy; it's a great place for a group to have a wonderful experience. It is a fascinating place full of history that will certainly inspire even the novice historian buff. Everyone that I know that has stayed at Servigny has absolutely loved the place.

If you are considering the Chateau de Servigny as a possible visit location in Normandy, I can strongly recommend the place; you can't beat it!
