OLYMPIC DATES ALREADY BOOKED
I was born and bred in London. Most of my life was spent as a market trader, selling underwear in many London markets. My mum used to work for me, but she become unwell and I gave up work to care for her. I had one flat in London, so decided to rent it out to holiday makers. This proved successful and now I own 3 flats. This keeps me busy. Unfortunately, my mum is no longer with us, so I now do voluntary work at a local outdoor activity centre. This involves many different things, as they also have a farm and gardens. I enjoy it very much.
Janet Bundey purchased this apartment in 2010
Loads to do and all within walking distance. Very quiet enviroment. Ideal after a busy day in London. Will recommend to friends and be back ourselves!
We spent a week and enjoyed the flat very much. All as described. Loved the walk in rain shower and comfy bed best. Very cozy and warm for two people.
There are many small supermarkets nearby for supplies (Tesco, Sainsbury, Marks and Spencer) or Borough Market for pretty much everything you can imagine.
Walked home from the Globe/Wanamaker theatre, along the Thames to Southbank. Jubilee tube station is perfectly close as is Borough on the Borthern Line or any number of buses.
We will definitely visit again.
The flat was as I thought fab, we had a great 6 days there, the flat is clean and well maintained, spacious and the location great, Janet was so accommodating, nothing was to much trouble.
I would definitely recommend this flat
We visited the Est India 5 mins walk from the flat, the food was excellent, the houses of parliament are really worth a visit plus we saw Billy Elliot, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and White Christmas all were fantastic shows.
My companion has already rated this flat, but I want to add that I consider being located in Southwark a definite bonus. There are so many places to go within the immediate area, including the Tate Modern, he Globe Theater, the Old Vic, a wonderful farmers market, and the beautiful and historic Southwark Cathedral. And there are plenty of pubs nearby!
The flat was exactly as advertised. We found it clean, well-supplied, convenient to the tube as well as several walkable tourist sites, restaurants, and markets. It truly felt like a home away from home. Janet was able to accommodate our luggage as we arrived very early from a red-eye flight. We would recommend the flat to anyone wanting to visit London.
The apartment is in a superb location with so much to see and do, all with a fantastic atmosphere to the area which we had not visited before.
It was clean, well maintained and equipped as new - a perfect home from home after a busy day sightseeing and so much nicer than a Hotel room.
The owner, Janet was quick to answer any questions and was helpful and knowledgeable on the area - She made our stay even more enjoyable. I would thoroughly recommend this apartment for a visit to a vibrant London and cannot wait to return.
Many thanks again Janet.
This is a perfect apt. for 3-4 people. Our 9 yr. old daughter slept on the pull-out sofa, and us in the main bed. (Americans, know that there is no top sheet provided on the bed, a bit disconcerting!) Also, our attempt to plug in a U.S. power strip (w/adapter and plug) blew all the fuses in the apt., (no power, heat, wi-fi, etc.) and we spent an evening at the pub next door using their Wi-fi to try and contact the apt. owner. (She responded the next day) My husband eventually found the fuse box and fixed the problem. Do not attempt to use your own power strip, use the one provided! Other than the clothes washer being a bit moldy, all the appliances worked well. We didn't attempt to cook other than breakfast, but for that it was sufficient. The apt. is very comfy and the shower works well. We would stay there again-but without our own power strip!
Superb One Bed flat in the heart of the South Bank area. Save money on bus and train fares, as you are able to walk to most tourist attractions. If you can't walk there then you are just 5 minutes away from both the underground station and bus stops. There are 3 supermarkets within 5 min making this a Great flat in a Fabulous location. Free WiFi access. Plus tea and coffee
