Located on the lush mountainside on the edge of the picturesque town of Lapta

The villa is an attractive and ideally designed holiday home offering magnificent views of the blue Mediterranean to the front and the Kyrenia mountain range to the rear. It is built to a high specification by the island’s premier construction company and was completed in summer 2007 on a large 800 square metre plot. The villa benefits from a private 10m x 5m overflow swimming pool and is ideally located for both beach/pool side holidays as well as a more active type holiday. The villa has a fully equipped modern kitchen, high standard finish throughout, a child friendly ground floor terrace and a further terrace on the first floor overlooking the pool and sea to the front and the panoramic Besparmac mountains to the rear.

Arrival: Ercan airport is more conveniently located and accessible from a number of UK airports (Manchester, Stansted amongst others). We can arrange for a taxi to meet you at Ercan (40 pounds sterling each way) and bring you to the villa. Larnaca airport in the south offers a wider range of fares and flights arriving from the UK. There are regular special offers on flights which make the taxi fare from Larnaca (currently 60 pounds sterling each way) to the villa worthwhile.

There will also be a welcome pack of essentials waiting for you. You will find information on use of equipment in the villa and some recommended restaurants.

Local area: The villa is only a short walk from the main road, and small buses travel frequently into Kyrenia and beyond. For exploring North Cyprus however, a car is essential. There are a number of car hire companies available to you, but if you so wish, we can arrange for a competitively priced car hire during your stay. 7 days or more hire and you qualify for free transfers to and from Ercan airport if that is your destination. Just contact us for details. Please note that at the moment there are no car hire facilities at Ercan airport and car hire is very difficult to arrange from Larnaca due to insurance problems.

Further information: Northern Cyprus is blessed with the most pleasing climate in the whole of Europe. The winters are mild, and rarely extend beyond February, and with over 300 days of sunshine a year the temperatures can reach 70F as early as March. In April and May Northern Cyprus is at its most beautiful with fields of wild flowers in full bloom. June, July and August are the hottest months and are ideal for sun worshippers. September and October are the most popular months when the weather is still warm (rarely below 80F) but the evening are pleasantly cooler. Northern Cyprus is very safe. The people are warm and welcoming and English is widely spoken. Sterling is accepted in shops and restaurants and driving is on the left.

Set near local amenities and the village of Lapta, the villa is also ideally situated for exploring the unspoilt coastal and mountain scenery on the island. The town of Kyrenia is a 20 minutes drive away and its beautiful historic harbour offers a wide choice of lively bars and restaurants. A 4 minute drive will take you to a lovely sandy beach with a friendly taverna-type restaurant set on the waterfront. Shops, supermarkets and restaurants are all within a 5 minute drive.

For a wider range of day time activities the LA Hotel, with its large sandy cove, is only 3 km away and the Camelot, Denizhan and Escape Beach Resorts are just a short drive away (5-8km). A new aquapark (Lepothos Aquapark) has just opened within 5km of the house. There are several well stocked supermarkets within easy reach and a corner shop close by. A number of fine restaurants are to be found in the locality and many more in Kyrenia and the beautiful mountainside village of Bellapais.

Other Activities: A brand new (3 months old) aquapark (Lepothos Aquapark) has just opened and ?s s?tuated just 5km from the house.

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency () unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

Notes

  • All prices quoted are per villa per week and not per person. A 25% deposit is payable on booking with remaining balance payable 8 weeks before arrival. A ÂŁ100 returnable deposit is required against breakages or excess electricity usage. Bookings made within the 8 week period must be paid in full. In cases of cancellation deposits are non-returnable. Last minute or late availability bookings may be available with discounts - check availability chart, then contact the owners. Airport transfer can be arranged – please request details from the owner. Car hire can also be arranged by the owner – please note that there are currently no car rental companies operating at Ercan airport.

  • The comfortable bedrooms have been furnished with handcrafted beds and tables and have been tastefully decorated. They all have ample built-in wardrobes and drawer storage space. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and triple aspect views, whilst the other 2 bedrooms enjoy sea and pool/garden views. There are air conditioning units in each of the bedrooms, plus gas fired central heating for the cooler winter months if required. The villa was designed as a four bedroom property, but the fourth bedroom has been converted into a spacious dining room. However, the lounge includes a large double sofa bed for additional bed space.

The outside terrace boasts a tasteful wrought iron railing and gate to provide extra security for families with children. There is a further terrace on the first floor which is ideal for evening dining, overlooking the beautiful Besparmac mountains to the front and the sea to the rear. Two weeks of heaven

This was our first visit to Northern Cyprus and boy did we get it right.
First of all The weather was fantastic ,Lapta is a great place to stay,its right near to the best beaches and loads of fantastic resturants "we didnt find a bad one".
Everything is fantastic value for money and the people are so friendly.
BUT best of all The wonderful Villa ,it has everything you could wish for including a superb pool which we loved.
We are not the type of people who go back to the same place year after year but we will be returning to this villa again for sure.p.s. the owners were fantastic helping sort out everthing prior to our arrival.Big thanks.The Ambrose family u.k.

Villa was aboslutely beautiful - everything you could need for a relaxing stay (with even a few extra books for when you run out!!). Bathrooms were lovely with lots of linen and towels. Kitchen was well equipped.

Pool and patio area amazing, with plenty of comfy sunbeds.

The little villa guide was really helpful - especially all the restuarant suggestions with great directions. We went to the Aquapark which was great for kids and the Escape beach was brilliant.

Would recommend to anyone who wants a relaxing, simple holiday.

Our second time here and we enjoyed it as much as the first. (Well, even more, because it was our honeymoon!) The villa is beautiful - well-equipped, spacious, clean and well-maintained. The pool is stunning and perfect for swimming lengths or just playing. It makes life easy that Karen and Stephen arrange transfers to/ from Larnaca airport and car hire. There are plenty of excellent restaurants to choose from, all recommended by Karen or other visitors in the detailed information pack in the villa. There are places to visit if you want to (we visited Nicosia and drove to the Karpaz peninsula this time) but relaxing by the pool, enjoying the peace and quiet and soaking up the views is a seductive alternative.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

wonderful holiday - july 2010

The villa was exactly as described. The pool and terrace are beautiful with sea views. The bedrooms are spacious with ensuites and the villa was really clean. Karen was very helpful arranging airport transfers and carhire. We had a fantastic holiday, it was really relaxing. We always went to Escape Beach Club which is about a 10 min drive, it is a beautiful beach with an amazing restaurant. There are lots of local restaurants they are not far but you do need a car to get around esp if you have small children. There are lots of places to visit, we went to Bellapais which was beautiful and even made it to Nicosia. I would recommend this property to friends. I am thinking of booking again for next summer.

Fantastic Holiday!

As we sat on the terrace on the first evening,barbecuing our fresh sea bass,drinking gin and tonics, playing chill-out music provided by Karen and Steven and watching the sun go down, we knew this was going to be a relaxing holiday! The villa was superb and as we were lucky enough to have fantastic October weather, we could barely tear ourselves away from it. However using the car organised by K & S we drove out to visit Kyrenia, St. Hilarion Castle, Bellapais (just for dinner!), into the hills and westwards to a beach recommended by Jan and Rob, the delightful neighbours. We were rather proud of ourselves that we even managed to go for an early morning walk around Lapta; we had to go early because we wanted to get back to the terrace and our books! The pool was outstanding - it seemed a little chilly if you didn't get in quickly but we loved being able to swim every day. We enjoyed every meal, staying in and barbecuing several nights and eating out on others, sampling a variety of restaurants recommended in K & S's useful information folder - they were all excellent. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and family and as soon as I've finished this review I'm going to call Karen to book for next year!
