The Port of Alcudia is the largest sandiest beach on the Island and it is right on your doorstep. It has every water sport imaginable along with a water park not far away. Alcudia lies in the north of Mallorca some 60 km from Palma. It is a very friendly, family resort with glorious beaches and a good selection of bars and restaurants which attract visitors from all over Europe as well as many Spanish tourists. It is certainly one of the island's most cosmopolitan resorts. The Alcudia port area is the most attractive area of the resort for nightlife. It is centred on the Passeig Maritim which is the walkway running parallel to the port. A short walk or bus ride away is the old town of Alcudia. The old town is approximately 1 miles away and was the capital of Mallorca in Roman times, although originally dating back even further to the Phoenician and Greek times. A new city was built on the Roman site by the Moors, the medieval walls and gates being added after the Spanish conquest.
