Almond Cabin Rental Photos and Description
Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 6-10)
Dreaming of a relaxing getaway on a remote mountain ridge with a great view of the Smokies? Wesser Heights Cabin is that place: a large three-bedroom, three-bath, Nantahala cabin with upscale furnishings and thoughtful amenities. With the Appalachian Trail just minutes away, you can enjoy a quiet walk in the woods or a longer day hike on the nation's most celebrated trail. Just five minutes from the Nantahala River and the Nantahala Outdoor Center, the cabin is a great retreat for those seeking relaxed solitude and for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy hiking, fishing, mountain biking, horseback riding, zip-lining, kayaking and some of the best whitewater rafting in North Carolina.
The spacious tri-level layout provides plenty of places for conversation as well as places for privacy. There are two large family rooms: one on the main floor with comfy sofas, a large flat-screen television, fireplace, kitchen and dining area; and one downstairs with a large sectional sofa, TV, foosball table, and wet bar including a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. Both rooms have large windows to bring in the mountain views and access to one of the decks. The lower deck has a large hot tub for six, and the upper deck has plenty of seating, a gas grill, and an outdoor dining table.
There is a bedroom and a bath on each of the three levels, as well as a sleeping loft with bunk beds and futons. Each of the bedrooms has a television with DirecTV programming. Wireless internet is available from any room or deck.
The cabin is in a very quiet, secluded location with spectacular mountain views. Yet even with this privacy, it is only three minutes away from a convenience store and five minutes from three different restaurants. Shopping, art galleries, more restaurants and the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad are just 15 minutes away in Bryson City.
Wesser Heights is ideally suited for larger families, or for couples to share. The number of adults is limited to six, but up to four children can also be accommodated using the bunk beds and futons. And, the cabin is professionally managed by a high-quality local agency for ease of booking and reliable support during the stay.

About Debra Holland
Here we are enjoying the Blue Ridge Parkway in October.
Debra Holland purchased this cabin in 2008
Why Debra Holland chose Almond
After a visit to the Bryson City area in October 2007, we decided to look for our own place and purchased Wesser Heights Cabin in January 2008. We come up four or five times a year and enjoy sharing the cabin with our friends and family. We look forward to retiring to this area eventually.
What makes this cabin unique
We love being so close to the Nantahala Outdoor Center and having breakfast at the River's End. We like taking our dogs for walks at the Tsali Recreation Area or the Wesser Creek Trail, and sitting on the deck enjoying the scenery or a good book. The town of Bryson City is only 15-20 minutes away, filled with more good restaurants, shops, and really friendly people.
Guestbook comments from the owner
As per my 8 year old grandson, "this house was worth the nine hours in the car." His 8 year old cousin said "best house I have ever been in." The boys -- ages 4, 6, 8 and 8 -- really enjoyed the Ruby Gem Mines, Lake Fontana (swing rope into lake), and trout fishing. They all caught trout at Tumbling Waters Campground! Some of us went whitewater rafting with WildWaters at the Ocoee River -- adults only as you will go on multiple Class IV rapids. We all went tubing at Deep Creek; the older kids and the adults loved it, the 4 year old did not at all! We all want to come back for our next three-generation family vacation.
