After we left I thought for a long time what I was going to put in this review. I honestly can't narrow it down to a handful of awesome things. The location is awesome! The views are spectacular! The apartment itself is well appointed and feels like home away from home right away (Though it could use a few more blinds or curtains - bring a robe!). The bed is super comfy. The shower was epic. Haha.

As someone who loves to cook even when away from home, that beautiful Viking was a PLEASURE. If you like to cook, there is more than just the basics in the kitchen. Including a full compliment of knives!

Several awesome places are within walking distance, and a good work out for a flatlander like me! The Ferry Building is a 15 minute walk. You can get to the big tourist places like Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 in 20 minutes or so.

I literally cannot say enough awesome things about this apartment. The neighbors are very nice and helpful. Just ask for a suggestion if you don't know where to eat. Wendy, the owner, is a pleasure to deal with. Her book in the apartment is full of all kinds of useful info.

Check out Cafe Trieste at the bottom of the hill for coffee. Maggie McGarry's for drinks and cover bands. Maykadeh Persian Cuisine for awesome middle eastern food. And there's a million pizza and Italian places super close by.

Just beware, it is at the top of a pretty steep hill so getting home after spending all day in the city was totally worth a $6-8 cab ride from most places nearby.

Owner's Response: You hit the nail on the head!! This neighborhood is indeed awesome. The roof deck view is spectacular and even more so now as the Bay Bridge has a nightly light show for the next 2 years. Thanks for mentioning the blinds/curtains issue. We love light from the outside, so have not put shades on all the windows. But we also love to sleep, so the bedroom has blinds to darken it at night. However, you (and others) might feel differently so we will definitely look into getting extra blinds installed. We are happy you enjoyed your stay with us so much!!!

Wow, this place is perfect, the owner Wendy was a joy to deal with, really helpful and offered lots of useful advise. The neighbours were really friendly and were on call if we had any problems.
The apartment is really impressive and we felt at home straight away, the location is perfect! The view from the roof is breathtaking!

Stop reading this and book it now! Then when you get here, have a bite to eat at The Stinking Rose and keep an eye out for the parrots!

The Bay Bridge has just begun a nightly light show which will display for the next 2 years. The roof deck has a full on view of this light show, and now has one of the most amazing views in the city!

Where do we start...?

First of all, the pictures do not do this apartment justice. It is better than the pictures! Wendy and Harry have outdone themselves. Top quality throughout the whole apartment. The location is perfect for foodies. There are TONS of restaurants available within just a few blocks... We gained 5 pounds, each.
I loved cooking in the kitchen. Perfect size for one cook.
The welcome book is a very nice touch. It helped our directions for each day we ventured out.
Oh, I've not mentioned the roof top.. WOW !!! What a view. B E A Utiful !!! We had the Telegraph Hill Parrots visit every day. A very nice treat. They make a lot of noise, but were very entertaining.
The Tempurpedic bed was devine. It was a challenge to get out of such a comfortable bed.
I was skeptical about staying in San Fran, But would go back in a heart beat.
Thank you for such a wonderful apartment.

Loved the Parrots

We spent 5 beautiful days in this apartment and loved it. The hill and the stairs were a challenge for me, but the reward of the lofty view from the deck was great. I can't remember giving a five-star review for anything before, but the Vallejo apartment really earned it.
It certainly didn't hurt that we had 60 degree sunny days in January, but our time inside was just as enjoyable. All of the appliances are high quality and everything was in great condition and all of the pictures in the listing are 100% accurate. And if your are as lucky as we were, you will get a daily visit by some of the wild parrot flock - that was a delight.
We came to San Francisco to walk and this location is central to everything that was on our list. The Farmers Market at the Ferry Building, the stores and restaurants on Columbus, Telegraph Hill and the groceries near Fisherman's Wharf. We ate inside as much as we went out and our only regret is that we didn't spend enough time investigating the places close to the apartment.
We look forward to a return visit that will be planned around the availability of Wendy's apartment.

2nd Visit - Again fabulous !

We stayed in Wendy's fabulous apartment last October and loved both the city and the apartment so much we couldn't wait to come back again this year !
There's always a worry when you in accomodation a year later that it won't live up to your memories or will look a bit rougher round the edges.
But in this apartment nothing could be further from the truth....it was as amazing as we remembered it and as soon as we walked back in the door we felt at home.
Everything....I mean everything...is of the highest quality and meticulously maintained. We once again had lovely weather (September/October is a great time to visit SF), and the roof deck was well used.
A big advantage to returning a year later was that we could put our knowledge of the area to good use and try out a good few of the restaurants and bars that we didn't get to last year....it really is the best area of the city and is alive and buzzing every night !
Our time passed far too quickly, but once again we enjoyed every single minute.
A big thanks again to Wendy for providing such a great apartment, and hey....we're already talking about when we can come back for our 3rd visit ! :-)
