Details for The Ricard House 4 Bedrooms, Sleeps 12, 2 Bathrooms

The Ricard House is a reproduction of an ancestral home dating back to the French regime in Canada. Albeit faithful to the Norman style, this stone house does include adaptations to the local climate such as a foundation to protect its inhabitants from the winter frost. The house is located at the edge of the village on a very large parcel of land where you can find an outdoor bread oven and a sugar shack. This house is very popular for honeymooners as well as for small groups up to 10 people. The total surface of the 2.5 floors is 1750 square feet. The Old Rectory is a 150 year-old house. It was the rectory of the church in the village St-Narcisse-de-Lotbinière on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River. The 1 200 square foot foyer showcases an immense stone fireplace, and all the first floor walls and windows remain in their original state. The Old Rectory can accommodate groups from 15 to 41 people into 9 bedrooms.

We are located 2 hours east of Montreal and 30 minutes east of Quebec City, along the St-Lawrence River, at the base of a big ski resort in the wintertime called Mont-Sainte-Anne We are in a small village called Saint-Ferreol-les-Neiges, at 1835 avenue Royale. We are located next to a beautiful outdoor park, part of the Laurentian mountains, called les Laurentides. And we are next to a large National Bird Sanctuary called Cap Tourmente where the Snow Geese migrate twice a year. We are also next to a pilgrimage sanctuary called Ste-Anne-de-Beaupre. Many large waterfalls are all around: the Montmorency Falls, the Canyon Ste-Anne and the Seven-Falls among others. And whale-watching is only 2 hours from here. Quebec City, the oldest city in North America, is celebrating its 400th anniversary in 2008 with a lot of very interesting events.

Mont Sainte Anne's was a beautiful rental

Review Submitted: July 14, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
This was a great property. We learned when we arrived that the posting on Homeaway did not match the actual house we rented, however the team was great and was able to get us into a house that matched the description. The house was spotless and included a well outfitted kitchen - had better better pots and knives than i have at home!! There wasn't one thing we wished we had for cooking that we didn't find in the house. They provided the dishwasher detergent, the soap for doing dishes in the sink, the laundry detergent and even dryer sheets! Everything we could have wanted was there. And the team that managed the property was fantasic, providing great recommendations for restaurants, discounts for area attractions - even playing with the kids a bit. Would highly recommend the property. We hope to get back in the winter for skiing.
