Fantastic, Centrally-Located Block!

The Waterloo West Apartment is a modern block, set within one of the most desirable locations of Central London (Zone 1). This location offers very easy access to some of the absolute best dining, entertainment, and transport options that a visitor could wish for. Of particular note with this apartment, due to its excellent location, on quite days, you can actually hear the chime of Big Ben on the hour; very charming!

Waterloo is a district of London, England, and part of the London Borough of Lambeth. It is situated 1 mile (1.6 km) east of Charing Cross. The area is part of a business improvement district known as Waterloo Quarter, which includes The Cut and the Old Vic and Young Vic theatres, including some sections in the London Borough of Southwark.

The area was marshland towards the northern tip of the ancient parish of Lambeth. It was known as Lambeth Marshe, but was drained in the 18th century and is remembered in the Lower Marsh street name.

Waterloo is connected to the Strand area on the north bank of the River Thames by Waterloo Bridge. The first bridge on the site was opened in 1817 and the current bridge was opened in 1945. The bridge was named to commemorate the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. Waterloo Road also dates from this time, built on land belonging to the Archbishop of Canterbury. The Church of St John the Evangelist, Waterloo Road was constructed from 1822 by the Commissioners for Building New Churches as the population of the parish of Lambeth had significantly increased. After the opening of Waterloo railway station in 1848 the locality around the station and Lower Marsh became known as Waterloo.

The Waterloo Green Apartment is a beautifully decorated, 754 square foot, 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom dwelling (one of the bathrooms is an en-suite to the master bedroom). There are 2 large double beds, and the apartment can house up to 5 guests at once. There is also a balcony in the apartment, and the building conveniently comes equipped with a lift. This apartment is on the 4th level.

First class apartment

I have travelled to London many times for concerts or theatre etc this by far is the best accommodation I have stayed in we totally loved it nothing is a problem if you do have a query, the beds are comfy the location is excellent and apartments are very clean I will defiantly book this again on our next visit I never normally write reviews but this apartment defiantly should get recognition thanks again for this stay top class

Convenient, comfortable apartment

We recently spent 3 nights in the Waterloo apartment. Close and convenient to the Waterloo station, walking distance to the London Eye, Old Vic theater, and much more. Bus also stops right in front of the building. First floor apartment was a little noisy in the morning from neighborhood folks heading out to work, but if you are an early riser it will not be a problem.

Nice Stay

Apartment is convenient to transportation (Tube & bus), two markets nearby, two small theaters, and several very good restaurants on The Cut street (Anchor & Hope excellent gastro-pub). Two queen beds and single-size roll-aways, kitchen works fine but could use a few more plates/cups/bowls for family size group. Waste basket in kitchen should be bigger as well. Wifi works well and apartment is very quiet. A couple minor maintenance items needed but overall a very clean, simple, and nice place to stay!

Great "find"

Like many others, I was initially skeptical reserving this apartment listed in the Vrbo internet site. I was especially leery since the credible looking website never provided a real address or direct phone number (I'm sure they've lost many prospective guests as a result of this clandestine approach. I suggest they explain on their website why they don't want to list it.)

In any event, I took the gamble and, fortunately, it paid off handsomely. The apartment was exactly like it appeared - clean, comfortable, spacious and well equipped. It was perfect for my family of five. A far superior solution than trying to rent two, small, expensive hotel rooms.

If you can survive without hotel concierge and room service, I would recommend this rental. I would definitely stay here again, providing they maintain this level of standards in future years. Nice find!

Everything is as advertised. The customer service was excellent and responsive. Early check in was easy and worked exactly as indicated. The flat itself was comfortable and reasonably clean. Some of the furnishings were showing wear and the walls and doors were "smudgy", but overall it was clean in the important places. There is a bus stop right outside the building which makes it very convenient but also very loud if you want to open the windows, as the buses run all day and night. This was a good alternative to a chain hotel and reasonably priced, but that is also where your expectation should be with the flat. Not fancy or high end, but comfortable and convenient.
