After searching for a fortnight looking for a holiday home near St Andrews we found Squirrel Barn, a great barn conversion well laid out and from the moment we entered squirrel barn it felt homely, i will definitely be back hopefully next year, oh and it was also a great wee treat to see the red squirrels feeding in the morning before we went visiting the east neuk of fife, for which the barn is in a great location.

What a wonderful place!

What a beautiful place to stay! Mike and Heather did an amazing job remodeling this old barn and made it so comfortable! The best part for us was watching the red squirrels, gray squirrels and birds out the kitchen window and patio door of the Squirrel Barn!! My daughter and I took hundreds of pictures! The view from the front of the property was spectacular overlooking the hills and the Firth of Tay. We had an easy trip to St.Andrews for a day of golf and the train station nearby got us to Aberdeen for the day to see more castles!!! We had a wonderful meal at The View restaurant next to Newport-on-Tay. Wonderful time but wish we had more time to just spend at Squirrel Barn and not travel around so much!
Owner's Response: We are so pleased you enjoyed your holiday here in the Kingdom of Fife.Thank you for taking the time to write a review.
Squirrel Barn at Coultra Steading is a lovely place to enjoy your annual holiday or just for a short break of 3 nights or more. Having red squirrels feeding in the woodland garden within feet of the window is a joy to see.It is a lovely peaceful setting to watch the wildlife but within easy reach of many different parts of Scotland.'s special places..
We hope to see you again. This part of Fife is a real hidden gem
