Melrose Villa Rental Photos and Description
Self catering villa within walking distance of restaurant, shops & river
Tweed Rig, was built high with large picture windows and a long South-facing balcony to take advantage of the view across the Tweed valley to Melrose, the Abbey and the Eildon Hills beyond. There's an old iron suspension bridge across the Tweed, (before the 1800s people used to cross the river on stilts!) so you can walk to Melrose where there are some fine shops, pubs, hotels, an excellent bistro, Marmions, and a small theatre. Even Gattonside itself has two restaurants, so no driving needed after dinner. Melrose is in the middle of the Scottish Borders - a great base for castles, abbeys, country houses, golf courses, wilderness areas, fishing, walking, cycling - and Edinburgh is only about an hour's drive. Stylish, contemporary and light with a great sense of space, Tweed Rig is available for self-catering rental with accommodation for 10 people (or 14 with two extra beds and the double sofa bed in the games room). More beds available on request.
7 night minimum stay is required during July and August
Golf: Tweed Rig is a central base for the many golf courses in the Scottish Borders.

About Debi Crawford
Born and bred in the Scottish Borders.
Debi Crawford purchased this villa in 1986
Why Debi Crawford chose Melrose
My family and I lived in the house until 2004. We bought the house from my parents who were downsizing and we decided to run it as a holiday house.
What makes this villa unique
Tweed Rig is set in a great location. On the edge of a village in a one acre woodland garden, yet within walking distance of Melrose with shops, restaurants, pub etc.
