4 bedroom, 3 bathroom villa with modern kitchen

The property is fully furnished and consists of a main villa (sleeps max 6) and an independent studio (sleeps max 2). The studio is not rented out separately, only in combination with the villa. (Villa and studio sleeps max 8)

The villa has 2 levels; On the ground floor are 2 bedrooms, with a toilet and bathroom (installed new in 2014), modern spacious living room, and a large open kitchen (fully equipped). The kitchen/breakfast area, living room have French doors to the terrace, swimming pool and garden, all facing south. On the second floor there is a third bedroom with Airconditioning and with en-suite toilet/shower room (installed new in 2014), and balcony facing the garden and pool. The studio has a spacious living area, modern shower room/toilet (new 2013) and large bedroom. Note; the studio ceiling is at 1.85m (6 ft).

The large garden of 2100 m2 has flowering trees, fruit trees and a well maintained private pool (10 x 5 m). The villa is in a calm area, but still conveniently near the villages of Seillans, and close to Fayence and many nearby attractions.

The Grounds : The large garden (2000 m2), with private pool with lounge area, lawn with volleybal/ badminton net, petanque court, big hammock is ideal for children to play or just pure relaxation. The property is surrounded by conifer hedges and pine trees ensuring your privacy. A forest road (800 m) leads from the main road up to the villa. The large poolside terrace is fully equipped with pool / garden furniture, hammocks and parasols. The villa and grounds are South facing and enjoy maximum day-long sunshine throughout the year. Nice walks can be made through the woods around the villa, or to the nearby villages of Seillans and Fayence.

The Local Area: Seillans is voted one of the 'Most beautiful villages of France' and located near the larger village of Fayence. The area has some of the finest scenery that the Provence has to offer. The countryside is predominantly wooded hillsides dotted with picturesque, perched villages and breathtaking valleys and deep gorges and rivers to swim in sparkling water. The nearby Lake St. Cassien is excellent for swimming, non-motorized boating and fishing. Near by nature trip include the Tanneron hills with great views over the lake, or the Esterel National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty and spectacular peaks.

There are numerous interesting nearby villages, with many markets, country fair, musical festivals, and great dining and wine. The region enjoys over 300 days of sunshine per year. The Gliding club in Fayence is nearby; view the Cote d'Azur and Esterel moutains from above ! ; This the area is well known as one of the best places for Gliding in Europe.

The Cote d'Azur: In the dramatic easternmost South of France, fields of broom and oak forests stretch to the rocky peaks of the French Alps. Quaint villages perch on hillsides, luminous in the golden sunshine (over 300 days a year). This is Provence at its most picturesque, brimming with wineries, flower markets, olive festivals and antique shops. Yet it is close to the beaches of St. Tropez and the excitement of Monte Carlo, and a short drive from Aix-en-Provence, the Luberon, the Gorges du Verdon, and the Isola 2000 ski resort. Besides Eddy working, Hilde is happy making our house a home (we tend to move a bit..), active in aerobics & Zumba !!, and studying to become Personal Fitness Trainer. You can rent Villa Seillans with confidence, as it is an understatement to say that this would be just any holiday villa. Villa Seillans is a fully furnished home for about 10+ people. Many toys for indoor- and outdoor fun, large pool, table tennis, petanque court etc. Good quality of all six double beds, excellent !! Enough bedding / linens and closet spaces. Windows with screens and shutters. Villa Seillans is ideal for two families, as the basement is a fully furnished apartment with private entrance, bathroom, living room and bedroom. For rentals of 2 weeks an interim change of towels and linen and cleaning, as well as pool maintenance. The villa is protected by an automatic opening and closing gate. (with plenty of keys). Fixed air conditioning in the bedroom on the south, sufficient mobile air conditioning for other rooms. Mega big garden with a diversity of flora with an automatic watering system. Seillans is located about 20 min. from the A8 (all major cities well and easily accessible). We have spend 14 days at Villa Seillans and enjoyed this super home for 100%. Merci Hilde and Eddy. XX

Nice outside area, disappointing villa

This is a well marketed villa on this web site that does not meet expectations. No airconditioning in two of the three bedrooms. Bedroom 2&3 are small, claustrophobic and airless. Bedroom 3 has two single beds pushed together, so one person has to climb over the other to get in and out of bed.
English TV channels don't work -weak or no signal
Levels of cleanliness leave a lot to be desired, the kitchen work surfaces were dirty and the cupboard below the sink was disgusting.
The whole interior had the feel of unloved 1970's style. The outside could do with a coat of paint.
Traffic noise from the main Fayence road was considerable, and the neighbours were constantly mowing their lawns, and their dogs barking. On the first weekend we were subjected to loud disco music til 2am!
When the pool is being filled, no water in the upstairs shower room. Nowhere to put your soap or shampoo in the shower.
Worst of all, no cleaning service halfway through our two week stay. Just clean bed linen and towels. Unacceptable for the price paid and never experienced before in any villa rented in France. We spent more than half a day cleaning the place ourselves.
There are many better villas in the area, I know, I have stayed in them!

Owner's Response: We accept this 3 out of 5 star rating, but don't think the comments are fair, and we like to provide our comments:
1) Our website mentions that only the master bedroom facing South is air conditioned, so not sure why our Guest expects the other rooms to be. 2) The two other bedrooms are normal size with windows, with enough space to sleep comfortable and store clothes. 3) The configuration of the 3rd bedroom and bed is also shown on the photos => on these first 3 topics, we are transparent and open on our website (with description and photos) of what to expect. 4) In our 7 years of renting out this villa we never had any complaints about the cleanliness of the villa (evident from previous reviews); our local caretaker takes pride in her work, and we are baffled by the use of the word "disgusting". Note that the Guest left his garbage and recycling material behind, while instructions to dispose of these (upon departure) are clearly mentioned in our welcome guide. 5) The bed linen and towels are changed weekly, with a light cleaning of the bathrooms. This extra service is not always offered in a self-catering villa. 6) TV reception is normally good (weather permitting) with several English channels; we cannot further comment on this. 7) We will provide a soap/shampoo holder in the upstairs shower room, and have the toilet checked. Small mechanical defects do happen, and should be raised to our caretaker so she can take action then and there. 8) During weekly top-up of the pool, to replace the evaporating water, the water pressure in the house drops upstairs; this is common in rural France. 9) The comment: "unloved 70's style decor" is personal; the decor is clearly shown on many photos on the website (shouldn't this have been noticed at time of the booking? 10) During high season, some traffic noise can be heard from the local road (600 meters); none of our previous guests considered this a nuisance. 11) The same for “lawn mowers non-stop”. In summer people enjoy the outdoors and tend to their gardens. 12) When staying in the countryside it can be expected to hear occasional barking of dogs, as well as other sounds of nature. 13) During high season there are many festivals and parties in France, and music carries far in the country. We have experienced this occasionally, but never till past 22:00 PM. Of course this could have been an isolated case, which is beyond our control.

Highly recommended villa.

We are very glad to have found and stayed in this villa as it was everything you would expect, and more. The communication between us and the owners (Eddy and Hilde) was very helpful and timely and they responded quickly to our emails. We hired a car at Nice airport and the Village of Seillans was about a one hour drive away. The driving directions from Eddy and Hilde were clear and easy to follow and the drive, once off of the Autoroute, was a pleasant introduction to the area.
On arrival the caretaker took us around the villa highlighting the different rooms and facilities, and then it was time to relax and enjoy the fresh air. The villa was spacious yet cosy, with four different bedrooms, three bathrooms and a huge lounge, dining and kitchen area. The kitchen quite probably has absolutely everything that you could need for a stay. The huge covered terrace outside the kitchen/ dining room makes the perfect outdoor dining area. We actually had every one of our meals outside for the entire two week stay. There were also some brand new features that were not listed when we booked, which included an outdoor shower next to the pool as well as a lovely petanque/ boules pitch to the side of the villa.
Location-wise, the villa was near enough to the village for a nice walk into it, the supermarket (SuperU) was only a couple of minutes drive down the road. The local area is absolutely lovely, with the next town down the road (Fayence) having a market every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
There were three generations of family with us and when I asked the question; “Would you stay here at this villa again?” the undisputed response from everyone was “Yes, definitely!” Thank you Eddy and Hilde for our relaxing stay.

lovely villa in quiet surrounding

A lovely and very completely furnished villa with a huge garden where we stayed with 3 generations. Our goal was enjoying our hobby (cooking). Well that was possible without any question. Situated in a small village in the lower mountains of France. The seacoast is quite close but due to roads with many bends 1 hour driving stimulating to stay in the local surroundings with a lot of high quality restaurants to lunch in case you have other hobbies than we have.

A Very Well Equipped Villa in a Great Location

We were a party of 7, made up of 2 families with teenage children and stayed during August 2013.
The villa is well equipped. The kitchen has everything you need - dishwasher, washing machine, coffee maker (Senseo brand), electric kettle, toaster and microwave. The fridge /freezer was a good size (second fridge in the studio). Bedrooms were reasonably sized. The master bedroom ( 1st floor) has a bathroom and a balcony offering views. The two rooms on the ground floor have double beds and share a bathroom. The studio is located in a basement and thus keeps nice and cool. It has its own living room and a modernised bathroom. It does have a low ceiling, which some might not like, but it wasn’t a problem to us. There was ample room for 7 and another couple of people wouldn’t have been a problem. Fast internet access is provided.
Outside, the villa offers great facilities – a lovely pool with a pleasant seating area, badminton court and an area for French boules (equipment provided). The owners also provide all you need for days out – beach towels, sun shades, beach chairs etc. You don’t need to bring anything from home. There is a charcoal barbeque.
The villa is at the end of a long and narrow (tarmaced) lane. Seillans is a 25 minute walk. There are pathways most of the way. Seillans is a beautiful village with a number of restaurants, but only a few shops. It offers quite a selection of art galleries selling local works. Directly opposites the entrance to the villa there is access to a footpath leading of into the woods and to a stream. It is possible to follow a route to Seillans this way, but take a map (the signposts stop abruptly!). As for supermarkets, there is a convenience store in Seillans and a SuperU in Flayence (open Sunday morning). The nearest hypermarket is the E’Leclerc on the D562 at Montauroux (not open Sundays).
Good days out include visits to local villages - Flayence (market Saturday),Mons and Bargemon. Grasse is also worth a trip (with more shops).
A visit to Lac de St. Cassien is worthwhile. It’s best to arrive early to avoid parking problems. The beach by the bridge has toilet facilities, canoe and pedalo hire and a large inflatable play area. In peak session the coast is an hour away. We liked the beaches between Theoule-Sur-Mer and Agay . Parking can sometimes be difficult, so go early.
Altogether a fantastic place to stay and we should say that the way the owners handled the booking was exemplary.

Geweldige Villa in een schitterende omgeving

Van 8 t/m 15 april hebben wij met 8 volwassenen en 4 kleine kinderen (leeftijd tussen de 6 en 18 maanden) een weekje mogen genieten van deze geweldige villa.
De villa is zeer luxe en van alle gemakken voorzien. Alle gewenste faciliteiten waren aanwezig, van Wifi tot zwembad en van broodrooster tot olijfolie, echt ongelofelijk.
De zorg die is besteed aan het opknappen en onderhoud van de villa vielen direct op. Schoon is dan ook een understatement. De villa biedt met 4 slaapkamers en 3 badkamers voldoende ruimte voor grote groepen. De recent gerenoveerde studio met volledig nieuwe luxe badkamer was een echte bonus. Het dorpje Seillans is heel pittoresk en volgens ons zeker de moeite van het bezoeken waard, net zoals de markt in Fayence die op slechts 5 minuten rijden is te bereiken. We hebben heerlijke uitstapjes gemaakt naar St. Tropez (30 minuten rijden) en het strand van Les Issambres (eveneens ongeveer 30 min rijden). Het grootste gedeelte hebben we echter rondom de villa doorgebracht. Enerzijds omdat het met 4 kleine kinderen eenmaal niet zo handig is veel te ondernemen, anderzijds omdat het gewoon ongelofelijk heerlijk vertoeven was bij de villa zelf. Geweldig weer, een zwembad voor verkoeling, een loungeset en strandstoelen voor de dames, speelveld voor de kinderen, (voet)volleynet en petanquebaan voor de mannen, en dit alles gecombineerd met heerlijke drankjes en een bbq die vrijwel continuaan het grillen was. Wat wenst een mens zich nog meer. Wij hebben dan ook een heerlijke week gehad en waren graag nog een paar weken langer gebleven, helaas aan alles komt een eind. Een ding is echter zeker, naar Villa Seillans zullen we snel terugkeren.

Seillans is an ideal base for exploring the Cote d'Azur or the Eastern Provence. Beaches at 40 min and ski-resorts at 2 hr drive. Close to lake 'Lac de Cassien' for swimming, fishing, pedalo-hire, sailing, picnic areas. Many opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, horse back riding, gliding; beautiful views over the Provence, and the beaches of the Cote d'Azur. Many golf courses nearby, with the Four Seasons resort at 20 minutes. Within 1 hour drive you will find the Gorges de Verdon, for hiking and kayaking. 2 tennis clubs nearby the villa. The area around Seillans has many beautiful hill-perched villages, with cobbled streets, side cafes, and young & old playing petanque (boules). This is France at its best ! Visit nearby Grasse, luxurious Cannes, Nice, Monaco and St. Tropez. The Provence area has many small village markets with local produce and larger traditional Provencal markets. Local vineyards produce well known Cote de Provence. Also visit the many open-air festivals.

Golf: The region has around twenty golf courses, notably the two magnificent courses just down the road in Tourrettes (20 min); The Four Season GC Provence is based on the Terre Blanche estate. A haven of peace offering a magnificent panorama on the mountains and the medieval villages up on the neighbouring hills. With its two courses ('Le Château' 6,616 m & 'Le Riou' 6,005 m), the club proposes a unique site in France. Majestically spreading around the Resort, both lines were drawn up by Dave Thomas, the world famous architect (De Verc Belfry). Here, water is omnipresent with sumptuous waterfalls and lakes. As regards technique, its two courses are very interesting, sometimes surprising while remaining accessible to all players.

Ski: 1) Isola 2000 is the first ski resort of the southern Alps. It stretches on more than 2000 hectares and is nestling in a cirque formed by 15 summits which tower between 2450m and 2974m

2) La Grave with its unique unpisted high mountain domain and its more than 7000 feet of backcountry terrain, is considered one of the freeride capitals of the world.

3) Valberg is one of the greatest sunny stations of the Alps of the south, with its 60 alpine ski pistes, its 26 ski lifts and nearly 30 km of basic ski pistes!! As of the snow melt, Valberg is transformed into a vast ground of discovered nature. In the medium of larches and green meadows, fauna and flora will not have any more secrecies for you… And you will be able to find, in all serenity, the taste of the wild blackberry and wild strawberries!
