Local neighbourhood but close to city centre: The neighbourhood offers an excellent and varied selection of local pubs, restaurants, cafés, shops, local library, dry cleaning and a large supermarket.

At the same time getting to the West End and many other areas is easy and quick. Fast 24 hour buses to the West End are 40m away. Vauxhall's zone 1 underground station is less than a 10 minute walk and is 4 stops from Oxford Circus. You can also walk along River Thames to Westminster and the South Bank arts centre.

We have lived in the London area for many years and know Vauxhall extremely well. I am a musician and Ian is a PhD research biochemist who more recently is working towards a new career as a child psychotherapist. The attractions of this apartment for us included the peaceful location and easy access to the excitement of the West End and the cultural centres.

Terry Davies & Ian Jeffrey purchased this apartment in 2011

We previously lived in Vauxhall for 21 years and loved the location. Now we have 2 holiday apartments just 3 streets apart which can also be rented separately or together.

We want you to be happy here. Having travelled widely, we know what we look for in a holiday home and these are the things we aim to offer in our 2 flats.

It has been wonderful to see the area around the flat develop into the lively residential centre it is today. We love the peace of the place in spite of being just off the main road. In the hallway you might meet Jon and Amy with their daughter Iris but you are unlikely to hear them. There's a lively residents' association in Tradescant Road and it's a friendly place.

An ideal base for your London stay - five stars!

We had a wonderful two week stay at the flat. What we liked: this bright, spotlessly clean, warm (November), upgraded flat had a fully equipped kitchen and washer/drier. It's has a quiet location (just off South Lambeth Rd), with master bedroom at the rear with storage space for luggage, clothes, etc.
It had easy access to everything we needed: buses #88 (Trafalgar Sq/Oxford Circus) and #2 (Victoria/Marble Arch) stop just outside on South Lambeth Rd. It is a 5-10 min walk to Vauxhall tube & rail stations and to Sainsbury's, exercise gym, etc. Local shops are just around the corner.
Owner Terry provided attentive & helpful service: arranging deposits, arrival & departure logistics, help with additional travel tips. Everything went very smoothly. We were promptly met by Vanya who showed us the flat and helped us settle in. A personal touch: milk, tea, coffee & biscuits upon arrival. My 90 year old British mother in law who spent a few nights with us highly recommends staying here!

ideal flat in Vauxhall, perfectly situated

I travel a lot on business and alwayy try to find a self catering flat when staying more than a day or two. Of all the flats I have had the pleasure to stay in over the years, this one in Vauxhall must be considered the top for value, location, and style. It is exceptionally clean (and I am fussy), beautifully detailed, airy and spacious. It is a 35 minute walk across the Vauxhall bridge to Westminster, an easy bus or tube ride (but not in rush hour -- recommend walking!), and excellent access to mainline station Waterloo. I look forward to staying there again and have already recommended it to a colleague.

TRUELY A HOME AWAY FROM HOME

We stayed in this delightful flat for a whole month.
Ian & Terry were friendly, efficient & helpful. They provided an excellent service, from the first email enquiry to the meeting & greeting & making sure we were comfortable during our stay.
We had two more adults stay for the second week and found the flat space quite adequate - we can recommend the sofa bed.
What a treat to receive each week white crisp bed linen & towels. A very high standard of cleaning was achieved by our lovely cleaning lady.
We appreciated the tasteful furnishings, artwork & books, also the helpful maps & bus routes.
The position was great with the buses nearby & frequent. The corner shop was so handy & only 10 minuters walk to Sainsburys supermarket. We did enjoy the walk to the South Bank with its many attractions - also the Tate Gallery & the Kennington Oval.
We would recommend this flat without hesitation to family & friends - it is every it promises to be plus more.

For one week at the beginning of September this year, we two New Yorkers had a lovely stay in the charming and comfortable Vauxhall apartment owned by Terry and Ian. Everything was first class. A well-equipped kitchen, bright and modern bathroom, cozy living room and a really quiet and restful bedroom. The neighborhood, close to Lambeth Bridge and Westminster, is friendly and historic. Twenty-four hour bus service delivered us to central London tourist attractions, literally within a few minutes. Underground and surface railways were only a 5-minute walk away. Lambeth Palace, Buckingham Palace, the Tate Gallery and SouthBank were close by. Many little convenience stores around the corner, along with cafes, pubs and restaurants of all descriptions. Vauxhall is a very old district of the original London, currently undergoing "gentrification", but still retaining its old-world character and charm. Strolling the streets of the borough brought back to this former Londoner sweet memories of days long gone, before and after the Second World War. For a taste of the real London, this is the place for you!

Notre séjour londonien a été une réussite totale en partie grâce à cet appartement parfaitement équipé (tout y est !!!) et surtout parfaitement situé (à moins de 10mn du centre ville avec un bus qui passe 24h sur 24 au pied de l'appartement !)
Les propriétaires sont charmants et très arrangeants (ils ont pensé à tout : livre explicatif sur tt ce qu'il y a à faire , cartes de transport prêtées et seulement à recharger, conseils sur les restaurants du coin .....coordonnées d'un taxi très bon marché qui est venu ns chercher à Gatwick ..... et j'en passe !)
Bref : je recommande cet appartement !!!!!

Among them are the West End, Westminster (the Abbey, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament), Buckingham Palace (if the flag's flying the Queen's at home), London Eye (the UK's most popular tourist attraction), the incomparable South Bank (concert halls, theatres, galleries and cinemas) and the Imperial War Museum. Tate Britain gallery, Lambeth Palace, New Covent Garden Market and Oval Cricket Ground are all within 20 minutes walk. Wimbledon is 3 stops away.

The fast and frequent Gatwick Express from Gatwick Airport travels directly to Victoria Station, a 10 minute taxi ride away.
