This apartment was lovely - clean, nicely furnished, well equipped, comfortable beds and within walking distance of Girona. We were there in November and although the weather was pleasant, it wasn't warm enough for us to use the outdoor patio - pity, it looked delightful. We used this apartment to not only visit Girona but to tour the Costa Brava and it worked well for that. We can highly recommend Monestir de San Pere de Rodes and also the ruins of Empuries as well as Girona itself. We enjoyed a meal at El Cui del Mon just a few minutes walk down the road from the apartment. The owner was lovely. If you are in Girona, this is the place to stay!
El Reientinc is situated in the beautiful surroundings of the San Daniel valley only 15 minutes walk from the Cathedral and other main sights of Girona. The cottage has everything you need including a delightful garden with many different seating areas. The owner,Roser, couldn't be more helpful. Highly recommended if you enjoy exploring the countryside while still being close to the city.
We loved this apartment. It was spotlessly clean with some outside space to have breakfast in the sunshine or on the balcony to have a drink in the shade. It has its own entrance back and front but best of all is its position. The walk into Girona old town was just what we wanted - you can't believe you are so near the city as the scenery is lovely ion the walk in. (20-25 min flat) In the other direction are amazing walks into the countryside with fantastic views. This little retreat is perfect we loved it.
The apartment was a good size for two people and had enough amenities to allow you to cook and enjoy the surroundings. The garden is very spacious and private with some herbs to use in cooking. Although the walk to downtown is about 1.5 kms you get used to it very quickly. We did a lot of biking in the area and made it back up from the town at the end of each day.
I cannot express how incredible our time was in Girona, which was augmented by the hospitality of Roser. The home was, simply put, beautiful and pristine upon our arrival. Not only was Roser wholly receptive to (all) our needs but she was more than accommodating to address/answer any questions we had when concerning the region and area. The amenities far exceeded any expectations we had and the beds/rooms were very confortable.
The most incredible aspect of the home, however, was the patio and extended garden. The pictures cannot express the beauty of the flora and fauna that surrounds the home, which was amplified by the breath-taking majesty of the mountains that encompass the distance. This made the home not only relaxing after a full day of cycling but a peace-filled environment to do work or simply have a coffee outside.
We are so excited to return in 2015 (and 2016) and see Roser again.
The little house is perfect for a single, a couple, or a couple with one child. The interior decorating is beautiful; lots of little items here and there, paintings on the walls and such all reveal that the owner once studied art. The little veranda is a perfect place for breakfast and dinner; it's right next to the owner's house, but surrounded by the leaves of a tree letting you feel protected and unobserved - except by the numerous birds that chirp merrily away. The garden, too, is surrounded by high hedges which give you the feeling of being in your own little enchanted space. The house is very clean and well-maintained. Roser is a most gracious, friendly landlady and the grandchildren who visit her occasionally are most polite. A 15-minute walk downhill puts you at the beginning of the old city with all that medieval Girona has to offer. One last big "plus": the air is very, very good and the location, right at the edge of the Girona neighborhood of Sant Daniel, is very quiet.
