The house is set in extensive child friendly private gardens at the end of a quiet lane yet within 8 minutes walk of the village centre. In the garden there is a 7.5m x 3.6m swimming pool, swing and various seating areas with chairs, parasols and sun loungers. The main patio area has a BBQ and large table with seating for ten people.The large open plan living room/dining area has a fireplace with inset woodburner,comfortable seating and a dining table for 8 people, internet access, wall mounted flat screen TV with French and English satellite TV plus DVD,video and music players. The study area contains books, CDs, videos and DVDs. A fully equipped kitchen area has dishwasher,large fridge freezer, oven, microwave, coffee machine etc.There are showers and toilets on both floors . A cot and highchair are available. There is gas central heating. Our local agent who speaks English and French will greet you on arrival , hand over keys and talk you through the property and its facilities.
This holiday home comes highly recommended. Along with my wife and two children, I had a wonderful holiday in August 2013. The weather was fantastic and many happy hours were spent in the pool. The local area is lovely and there are two nice cafe/restaurants and a great boulangerie in the village, which was a 15-20 minute walk away - although it was so hot we didn't walk it very often!
The house is very well equipped and provided a very comfortable base to return to after visiting the local attractions. If you get a chance go to the Son et Lumiere Spectacular at St Fargeau Chateau - it was amazing! - however, it finished after midnight, so not recommended for very young children - our 8 year old enjoyed it, but was tired towards the end (after spending all day in the lovely pool!).
The best part of our holiday was relaxing in the early evening sunshine, sampling the local wines, while the children played in the pool and extensive grounds - bliss!
Had a lovely week here in June with my family, including my two children of 7 and 9 years old. The house was ideal for us - plenty of room for us all to have some space, with a large open plan ground floor and 4 nicely presented bedrooms upstairs. The whole place felt very clean and fresh.
The grounds were fantastic - the house is at the end of a quiet lane, so was safe for the children to ride on their scooters well away from the main road. There was lots of space for them to play, with a huge enclosed paddock, a swing, and a badminton net set up, with racquets etc provided - which was a huge hit with my kids. Not forgetting the swimming pool, which they used everyday of the holidays (even in the rain one day)!
The house is a pleasant 10 minute walk from the village, which has a mini-market, a bar, a restaurant and a couple of other shops, including a good boulangerie where we bought our fresh bread each morning. There is also a nicely equipped little children's playground and football field.
The house is only a 10 minute walk in the opposite direction to Chateau Ratilly, a beautiful chateau famous for it's pottery, which you can watch being made - well worth a visit.
Further afield there are some nice little towns within a 10-15 minute drive, including St Fargeau which has a fantastic chateau (where you can walk around the attic eaves) that the children enjoyed, and St Sauveur, where we had lunch at a little rustic Italian restaurant - we all enjoyed the pizzas!
Finally, if travelling with children/teenagers, I'd recommend the Adventure Park which is only a 5 minute drive away - it was the highlight of my kids' holiday being suspended between the trees on zipwires (thankfully I was able to just watch from below)!

This has been our fifth stay at Les Jolivots. The house is spotlessly clean, the beds are comfortable and the open plan accommodation downstairs works well. In fact everything works well! We have visited in the early Spring through to September, both when the weather has been hot and sunny and when it has been cold, wet and miserable. In good weather the outside living is idyllic. There are several different seating areas to catch every bit of sun, round the pool, on the patio and in front of the house till the sun disappears. Walking in the early morning to the bottom of the meadow is delightful, with spectacular views over open countryside.
The house has a different identity in cold weather. The wood burning stove warms the whole house and downstairs feels extremely cosy.
There are several well stocked supermarkets in the area, though we prefer to buy from local markets. Toucy has a fantastic Saturday market, and it is possible to visit a different market in surrounding villages every day of the week!
There are places to eat within walking distance in the village itself and in surrounding villages. Visits to Sancerre and Saint Fargeau are memorable.
We love walking and the surrounding countryside is perfect for beautiful scenery unspoiled by cars. There is even a chateau within walking distance which is well worth a visit
In fact the location of Les Jolivots is ideal for visiting this unspoiled area of France.
When we arrived in Treigny we were very pleased with the house and the garden. It was just what a holiday home should be. The house is very spacious with an open plan living area and a cosy real log fire for chilly evenings. Nice decor and everything one needs for a relaxing break.The dishwasher and two bathrooms make things easier for families or friends sharing too. The very large private gardens with mature fruit trees are an added bonus - especially when the fruit can be eaten by visitors whenever it ripens.
Everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained. We would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely house to family or friends and will definitely be going back sometime soon! The outdoor pool is absolutely ideal for hot sunny days to take a cooling dip.
And what a great area the house is situated in too! The surrounding countryside is beautiful. Rolling hills, lovely market towns with superb restaurants, good supermarkets and plenty of points of interest.
It can be a worry when selecting a house to spend a family holiday in but any concerns we had were quickly dispelled during our dealings with the owners, Carrie and Phil. They were helpful, friendly and informative and made the booking process very easy.
The house and grounds are superb. The house is tastefully furnished and when we arrived was clean and fresh. It is well equipped and has everything that you need for a holiday. The bedrooms are comfortable and there was easily enough room for our party of five adults. Outside the grounds are spacious, well maintained and seem very child-friendly; there is plenty of room for them to let off steam! The pool is a bonus and was very popular for a cooling dip during the hot afternoons. The property has a lovely patio area that is ideal for barbecues during the pleasant warm evenings.
The area is rich in history and has many wonderful market towns selling fresh produce for those nights when cooking in is the option. Alternatively, there are many excellent restaurants within a short drive where you can enjoy the very best of the region's culinary delights.
Overall, we were delighted with our choise and would have no hesitation in recommending the property to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday home in a beautiful location with everything you need.
My family and me, five person at all, had a very nice holiday in this house. It has got a beautiful interior and everything in the kitchen you need. There are four sleeping rooms and a bath on the first floor and a big living room with kitchen, reading corner, a second bath and a second seperated toilet. We were able to park our car in a garage.
The garden around the house is very huge with fruit trees we were invited to join. There was a barbecue area with a big table, enough chairs and of course a big barbecue.
Near this there was the huge pool. It had estimatedly 5 meters length and 2,5 meters width.
Directly beside the house is an other house but no one lives there so we were the only ones on the whole estate what was very important for us.
The contact person at the estate is a very friendly man who was commited and polite. The owner of the estate is friendly, too and could be connected for every question.
The house itself lay outside the little village with no disturbing noises except two barking little dogs at the nearest house.
A castle can be reached by a 10 minutes' walk.
The village itself has a little shop. The next city "Auxerre" is a three quarters drive away for further shopping. Paris can be reached in a two ours drive.
Our holidays were great and we advise it to every interested vacationer.
The house is within 8 minutes walk of the centre of the village. There you will find a boulangerie, bar restaurants, small supermarket and a hairdresser.The village is set in an area with meadows, orchards, lakes and streams acclaimed for its pottery. Summer exhibitions are staged at the art centre at Chateau de Ratilly - a five minute walk from the house.
A short drive away is Saint Fargeau dominated by its magnificent chateau and child friendly farm. Here each summer weekend, a son-et-lumiere spectacular is staged. Just outside, the Lac du Bourdon offers all water sports including rowing, sailing, wind surfing, pedalos, a swimming area and fishing. Nearby is Guedelon a major tourist attraction where a Medieval fort is being constructed using only medieval methods. The Parc Boutissant is a wildlife park with deer, wild boar and European buffalo roaming in their natural habitat. Nature lovers will also enjoy the riding, fishing, cycling and walking on offer in the region.
