Gstaad has firmly positioned itself as a fantastic destination for both winter and summer and prides itself on offering an annual calendar packed with well-known cultural and sporting events such the Gstaad Open tennis tournament, and classical and country music festivals. It is also a great base for walkers who can enjoy exploring the Wanderwegs whilst listening to the sound of Swiss cow bells.
Diablerets 3000: Skiers can 'Live the Legend' in both summer and winter up on Diablerets which can be reached via Reusch, just 4 min drive from the chalet. Why Jenny Stenson chose Gstaad-Gsteig-Feutersoey
We chose to build our chalet here as it has such a wonderful location with fantastic mountain views. While the location is quiet and peaceful, the main road is nearby, so we never have any problems with access in winter and the bus stop is nearby for access to local towns. The chalet is situated by a picturesque river and is only a short stroll from the quaint village of Gsteig which has some lovely walks and great cross country skiing in winter. We built the chalet in 2010 and have created a bright open living space with three bedrooms which can all fit two single beds and which have fitted wardrobes. Outside, we have decked terrace and a garden with a lovely log table for outdoor dining. The outdoor space is also safe for children to play. We will also accept pets. The chalet has underfloor heating which is great to come home to when it's freezing outside. We also have an indoor heated storage room for any outdoor gear. For those who need to keep in touch with the outside world, although you might not want to when you get there (!), we have satellite TV and excellent WIFI. If you don't fancy going far to eat out, there is a good restaurant just by the chalet.
What makes this chalet unique
We have rented many places in various mountain locations over they year and have often found that properties within the same price bracket as ours are furnished with items that have seen better days and which are poorly equipped (a jumble of old pots and pans and not enough crockery, glasses etc). Chalet properties may often be quite dark. In addition, the reference 'sleeps 6' often refers to a sofa bed or a chair bed! We have 6 real beds!
People who have rented our chalet have told us that what they most appreciate is coming to a home from home with everything they need. We also designed the windows of the chalet to give it a bright an open feel with modern furnishings which have a mountain décor touch. One review we got mentions that the chalet smells gorgeous! This is due to the solid wooden floors and the Ralph Lauren candles! We also have one family who have returned to the chalet three times!
