Ostuni Apartment Rental Photos and Description

detached house 2 bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, 2 bathrooms

Looking for a beautiful and welcoming house? Intimate, and not noisy, at the same time in the city center? This will certainly meet your expectations. It is a perfectly restored eighteenth-century historical detached house, on the first floor there is the living room, the day bathroom, a closet, the kitchen and the dining room. In the living room, lit by a glass door with balcony, there is a comfortable sofa bed. The access to the second floor is by wooden stairs; here you will find an intimate twin bedroom, with two windows looking out to the municipal gardens; a WC; a bedroom with single bed. The floor is made with stone and wood, doors and windows are made of wood. Like all historical houses it is very cool in summer. The house is provided with gas central heating, all the facilities, washing machine, vacuum cleaner, linen, etc.. Placed in a little square paved in stone, and in an intimate position, the house is at the same time in the central area of the town.

SITES & SIGHTS: Ostuni is only 5 km from the sea, and has a long coastline of 19 km, is characterized by long sandy beaches (such as those that fall within the Regional Park from Torre Canne Torre San Leonardo) and small coves that alternate with cliffs (such as those of the wild Pozzella Tower, characterized by luxuriant Mediterranean). The bathing waters are of good quality and very beautiful coastal scenery. Ostuni has been honored several times for recognition 'Blue Flag' of the 'Five Sails'. Ostuni also has a hilly landscape of endless beauty that overlooks the Adriatic Sea. This landscape is, in the hills of St. Fred and S. Blaise, characterized by woods and Mediterranean bush, while in the area at the foot of the medieval village, is characterized by monumental millennial olive groves, which identify the park of olive trees, an area of ??high landscape value. HIKING & LEISURE: For lovers of hiking or biking trails abound and well-marked bicycle lanes. There are excursions into nature on horseback, hiking and ciclotrekking Regional Park in the coastal dunes. There are bike paths equipped with rest areas for cyclists along the Trajan (109 AD the Roman road) between the ancient olive groves and Procaccia way along the coast of Ostuni, the route runs through all the historic farms (XVI - nineteenth century) of Ostuni, the dolmen (II millennium BC) and Roman and medieval underground presses. The trek is fascinating natural scenic areas of San Biagio and St. Horace, or along the path that reaches the Park and the famous archaeological site of Santa Maria d'Agnano, an ancient place of worship in '91 where he was found a tomb dating back to 22. 000 years ago of a woman who died with her fetus. 15 minutes by car from some booling, tennis, football, outdoor cinema, children's playrooms SURROUNDED BY .......: The house is located in the historical center of Ostuni eighteenth century, is situated in an intimate position in a square paved in stone, but at the same time central to the town: the house is in fact a short distance from the town square (100 meters), the public garden (70 meters) from Viale Pola which is the main shopping street ( 200 meters). The bar of the municipal gardens and those of the village square, the newsagent, the tobacco shop, a hairdresser, a beauty salon, grocery stores (bakeries, fishmongers, butchers, etc..), Post offices, pizza parlors, taverns and restaurants are all placed in a radius between 50 and 100 meters. The villa is equipped with local bar with outdoor tables and games for children. Near the house there is a wide range of restaurants, also located in old oil mills, and there is a sophisticated Japanese restaurant (reservations necessary).

SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE PICTURES

  • 5 of 5
If you've managed to discover Ostuni and Puglia, you're already ahead, but I'm sure by choosing to stay in Marina's wonderful apartment, you've just guaranteed yourself a perfect holiday.

The apartment is as all the other reviews have stated; it's just a few minutes walk from the main square, it's immaculately clean, it has everything you need for a comfortable stay, there's air conditioning, a cute little kitchen to cook your own meals if you wish and the rooftop terrace will allow you plenty of time to enjoy the sunshine and sounds of the city.

But there's something to this apartment that the pictures will never be able to illustrate. It has such a great feel to it. The moment you walk in the shiny, green door and climb the steps up to the first level, it feels like a home. And after enduring what was probably a very long day of travel to get there, that feeling is a welcome relief.

Marina is a terrific hostess, very knowledegable of the local area and sights and as everyone else has also said, she makes amazing olive oil which you can buy and take home with you at the end of your trip.

If you're thinking of a holiday in Puglia, Ostuni is a great place to base yourself. Situated about an hour from Brindisi and half an hour from Bari airports, it's an easy drive to many other towns like Martina Franca, Lecce, Cisternino, Otranto and Monopoli. You certainly won't run out of day trip possibilities. It's not so simple without a car, but you can get the local shuttle to the train station (about 2km's down the hill) and then catch a train to many towns along the coast.

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Marina's apartment to anyone. It was just what I needed for a chilled out week in a beautiful part of the world.

OUTSTANDING!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I visited the beautiful town of Ostuni for the second time.
Firstly I would say that the pictures do not do this house justice. It is far better. The house is set in a quite cobbled street minutes away from the town square which boasts, bars, restaurants, post office, cash machine, fish shop, butchers, everything you need for a relaxing holiday.
The house became our ' home' for 10 days thanks to the lovely Marina, who went above and beyond to help make our stay so enjoyable. We couldn't have asked for a better hostess.
Having arrived a day early due to flight availability, Marina arranged for us to stay on an Olive farm for 1 night ( featured last week on Gino's travels around Italy) Marina met us and took us to the farm and arranged to meet us the following day to take to the house.
The 3 terraces each give views of the old town and sea.
The house was immaculately clean and well equipped.it is obviously loved and cared for. An abundance of linen and towels. We used the washing machine which was a god send.
Without exception the restaurants are lovely. Look for the sign 'osteria' which guarenteed authentic regional cooking.
We actually ate in most evenings.
I would suggest that if you wished to venture further afield a car is a must.
There is a large supermarket " simply" a short distance away, great fish, meet and veg counter.
Ostuni in September reverts from a tourist destination to a wonderful italian retreat. Little or no English is spoken which adds to it's charm.
Overall, we have stayed in many houses across the entire Italy and this would rate as one of the best, with the most charming hostess and family ever!
Thank you Marina and your lovely. family.

CORRECTION TO MY PREVIOUS REVIEW

  • 5 of 5
I realized that I did not accurately describe the sleeping situation! There is a double bedroom (pictured), a pull-out couch in the main room (also a double), and a single pull out mattress in a small room on the top floor by the door that leads out to the great rooftop area. There are 3 different sleeping areas in all!

GREAT PLACE IN OSTUNI!

  • 4 of 5
Marina is a great host! When she found out we were interested in olive oil, she showed us around some of the old growth olive groves and gave us the history of the region. We also got to sample some of her oil (yum!)!. She had good restaurant and sights recommendations. The place is as pictured and spotlessly clean. There is only one bedroom as well as a pull out couch-both of which were comfortable. The bathroom is a combo bathroom/shower. It is a cute, small place, and in a great location. We loved Ostuni and it is a great base for exploring the region. Plus it has a great gelato place, Amado Mio, so what more could you ask for?

THE ABSOLUTE BEST !!!!!!!

  • 5 of 5
Marina and family,
I wanted to thank-you for your hospitality at your orchard and views of Ostuni ! You were so very kind to assure that we saw the beauty in the land and its' productivity! What a joyful experience for us! I too appreciate and honor all that nature has to offer!
Your apartment was perfectly situated from the activities of the square a few short blocks away ! Your direction and insights were extremely helpful ! And we loved your home! We ate at the "Local Cuisine Restaurant" on the corner that you suggested and I can only hope to return soon to eat JUST THERE! It was incredible! It made me realize how the Americans kill the delicacy of Italian food!
Your Olive Oil is the BEST in the land! So light and pure! Truly remarkable! Thank-you!
Please post this note on your web site as I would encourage anyone to rent from you while in Ostuni! Our memories will be cherished with you as part of them!
Thanks again,
Best Gail T

LOVELY IN OSTUNI

  • 5 of 5
We enjoyed our stay very much. We agree with the comments and the ratings of the other reviewers. The place is immaculately clean, the furnishings of good quality and good condition. The bed is very comfortable. The apartment is absolutely charming and authentic. The view from the terrace of the town and the sea is terrific. The location is convenient to everything, less than a 5 minute walk to the square, yet very quiet. There are stores, banks, cafes and restaurants also within a 5 minute walk. Marina is a great landlady, very agreeable, helpful and straightforward to deal with.

We are very happy with the choice we made.

Localization in Ostuni is definitely preferred, since this is one of the most beautiful tourist areas of Apulia, rich in archaeological sites, castles, cathedrals, trulli and farms, olive groves, monuments, nature reserves, caves, cliffs and beaches, and day trips allow to know the most beautiful places in Valle d'Itria and the Salento, in fact, less than an hour away you can reach Alberobello, Caves of Castellana, Cisternino, Locorotondo, Martina Franca, Lecce and Otranto, Oria and Grottaglie the Safari Park of Fasano.

Other Activities: hiking in nature.
