Excellent location close to pools and clubhouse, beaches within 10 minutes walk

Fantastic fully equipped duplex apartment (non smoking), located on a private country club development close to old Estepona on the New Golden Mile just west of Marbella. Whether it is access to wonderful golf courses, or close vicinity to the beach this is the place to choose. The true jewel of the urbanisation is its clubhouse. The apartment is brand new (April 2006) and has private terraces, secure underground parking with communal swimming pools set within landscaped gardens. There is hot and cold air conditioning and a security system.

The property is situated between the charming old town of Estepona and the lovely Puerto de La Duquesa, both only about 5km /3 miles away. Cosmopolitan Marbella (great for shopping) and the dazzling Puerto Banus (great for people watching) are only 20min away by car and the lively resorts of Fuengirola and Torremolinos are within easy reach by car, bus or taxi. Children friendly. English resident property manager will meet and greet you.

More about the area: For the more adventurous, you can also take a day trip to Morocco on the fast Ferry from Algercias. Also in the area are several beautiful villages, towns and cites. These include Casares, Ronda, Mijas, Selville and Granada to name but a few. The nearest Mercadona (supermarket) is in Sabinillas, which is approx 1km away. Here you will find just about everything you need at very reasonable prices. There is a lovely restaurant in the Country Club itself which has an excellent menu and is very reasonably priced. About 200m away there are two very nice restaurants, Spanish and Italian. A 5 min drive in either direction will take you to Estepona or Puerto de la Duquesa where you will find numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs etc. Taxis can be ordered through the Country Club reception. Estepona is approx 5km away.

Information about Country Club: Membership of ‘Albayt’ (The Costa Galera Country Club) is 35 Euros per day or 70 euros per week

A Club House which is one of the most complete on the whole Costa del Sol and, which offers you excellent installations and services.

Over 950m2 space for sports, health and beauty, your well-being and to spoil your senses.

Located on the ground floor of the Clubhouse you can access by stairway or by elevator.

The beauty centre is divided in two areas; at one side you will find the UV cabins, the fitness room and the classroom for group lessons. On the other side you will find the thermal area which we divide in a relax zone equipped with six heated lounge chairs and the actual thermal zone with 3 pools, one for swimming at 31ºC, one for tonification at 12º and one hydro massage pool at 36 ºC with incorporated jacuzzi, a bubble chair and an area with hydro massage chairs.

Information about the complex: The development has 8 outdoor pools (one of which is right next to our apartment). Two of the pools have large chiringuitos (pool bars), these offer hot and cold food and a vast array of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, complete with service to your loungers. The country club, known as Albayt, is a truly magnificent complex which boasts features including indoor heated pool, a health spa which offers facials, hydro-therapy treatments and aqua-therapy showers, a fully equipped gymnasium, a tranquil relaxation chamber and a large lay-back jacuzzi pool, not forgetting the yoga and aerobics classes. There is also an on-line, email, and fax equipped reception, beautifully laid out restaurant (with large alfresco terrace) which over looks the golf course.

'My family and I had a fantastic holiday staying in Neil's three bedroom apartment on the Costa Galera resort in August 2007. The accommodation was clean and welcoming and well equipped for the five of us. The variety of pools available on the complex meant that you could always find a quite pool if you wanted and the family pool alongside the pool bar was a great place for the kids to make new friends and enjoy themselves safely. I have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to other families' - Anne-Marie Walker

Absolutely loved our stay at this apartment. Fantastic views over looking a golf course and land.Three balconies and a roof terrace so lots of privacy. Lots of pools to choose from and one virtually on your doorstep that is very quiet and relaxing. This was one of the best apartments we had stayed in, it ticked all the boxes and had everything you needed. Very local to everywhere to and great facilities. Thoroughly recommend!!

The apartment was as advertised.Though the bedrooms were smaller than i had thought.To me the apartment is on the outskirts of Estapona but about a 10 minute drive to.We did not go to the beaches but used the swimmimg pool right beside the apartment which was very handy.We drove to Ronda,Caesares, and Gibralta.If going to Gibralta leave your car on the Spanish side and walk over the border.We used the driving range in the club which our teenage daughters enjoyed.you have to hire the clubs and bucket of balls.The nearest supermarket Mercadona was great.reasonable prices and every thing you would need.Fresh bread daily and fish.The historic part of Estapona is worth a visit.Lovely hanging baskets and lots of cafes.The town seems quite Spanish and not too touristy.We all had a lovely time and were blessed with good weather

Fantastic Holiday

I've guessed the date we stayed but it was in August 2013. We are a family of 4 and the apartment was perfect for us. It has 4 balconies and there were times when I was able to avoid the family completely. The apt is clean and tidy and the beds comfortable. There is ample storage space and three bathrooms if my memory serves me correctly. At the back, the balcony over looks the golf driving range and pitch and putt. Even better, it faces a mountain that looks like a large man lying on his back. The view is great and changes as the sun moves position. It takes about 35 large steps to get to the nearest pool and although there are a number of other pools on the Albayt site that may be prettier, we loved using the pool nearest the apt. It is clean and just the right size to dunk an annoying teenager. It is also quiet and there are plenty of poolside beds to lie on. The area is great too, with a Mercadonna only a mile or so away ( if that ) if you turn left at the roundabout and head towards Estepona. The town of Sabinilas is very pleasant, has a market and a Burger King. There are several restaurants too.

A little further on, you will find La Dequisa, which has an old fort and plenty of small restaurants that serve tapas and other delights. There is a large beach and one of those traditional beach bars that serve food.

We enjoyed our stay so much that we have booked to stay again this year. We cannot wait and would recommend Neils apartment to anyone, whether you have a young family or just looking for a quiet retreat. Lovely.

I should also mention that there is a huge Carfore ( not sure of the spelling ), in Estepona, which you can see off the main road and only about 20 mins drive from the apartment.

We are delighted you are coming to stay with us again this summer and hope you enjoy it even more (we do every year). I hope you like a few of the changes we are making during the course of this year.

We are starting to use our place more and more as we appreciate what a fantastic area it is and how easy it is to get to places. The whale watching near Tarifa (about an hour's drive) and the views of Africa you can see from the chiringuito down the road underline how special the place really is. I almost don't want to say too much for fear the place will be "discovered" by everyone.

Very good value

We had a great time at the appartement.
The appartement was very clean with many terraces to enjoy the perfect weather. The Country Club was a big plus as there is a good onsite restaurant with reasonable prices, golf and paddle tennis.
The country Club also has the choice of 8 pools one of them directly at the side of the appartement. The pools were never crowded and we used them and the onsite facilities a lot.
As other reviewers already said, the nearby beach is not accessable by foot and isnt worth a visit at all. That was not a problem for us as we had a car and there were so many great beaches within a few minutes drive.
We would have enjoyed the appartment even more if some minor repairs and furniture updates would have been made.
The overall condition of the appartement is good, but be aware that the bedrooms and the masterbed is relative small for large persons. ( I guess that is typical for spain )
The location is perfect for daytrips to various Costa del sol Highlights and the town of estepona is really beautiful.
The owner and the caretaker who lives on the resort were very helpful and friendly.
In summary, we had a wonderful time at Costa galera, and enjoyed our vacation so much, we consider on returning sometime in the future. The overall value of the appartement is excellent, the onsite facilities are clean and offer a lot to do while the surrounding areas have everything you might be looking for whether you are looking for great beaches old citys or good dining and shopping.

Urlaub in einer komfortablen Ferienwohnung

Für unsere Familie mit drei (fast) erwachsenen Kindern war dieses großzügig Appartement genau das richtige Ferienziel. Insgesamt drei Schlafzimmer mit jeweils einem dazugehörigen Bad sowie drei Balkonen und eine große Dachterrasse - Platzenge konnte nicht aufkommen.
Die Ausstattung war gut. Küchengeschirr und -Zubehör war vollständig, es fehlte nichts. Die Wohnung war sauber.
Die Anlage selbst war sehr gepflegt. Der große Pool (den wir mit zwei weiteren Familien praktisch allen nutzen konnten) wurde täglich gereinigt. Etwas störend war der hohe Sicherheitsstandard; die Anlage war durch einen hohen, verschlossenen Drahtzaun gesichert. Insgesamt entsprach die Beschreibung im Angebot unseren Erwartungen. Vielen Dank an Neil und Greg (den Verwalter vor Ort) für einen schönen Urlaub. Wir können die Anlage weiterempfehlen.

Situated less than 500 metres from a local unspoilt secluded beach. If you prefer something more lively, the beautiful beaches of Playa del Cristo, Estepona and La Duquesa are only a

5 min drive. Likewise Sotogrande, Puerto Banus and Marbella are only 10 - 15 minutes away by car.There are several attractions close by to interest the whole family. Selwo Safari Park in Estepona with its animals roaming semi-wild is a great day out as is the Zoo in Fuengirola. There are also 2 Water Parks close by, one in Mijas Costa one in Torremolinos. A great day out is a visit to Gibraltar, (but don't forget your passport) where you can take a tour of 'The Rock' and have close contact with the Apes. For the more adventurous, you can also take a day trip to Morocco on the fast Ferry from Algercias. There are at least 40 golf courses along the coastline. Closest to the apartment are Estepona and Duquesa, both within a 5min drive and reasonably priced. The famous Valderama course is only 15min away.

The famous Valderama course is only 15 min away as is San Roque, Marbella, Atalaya, El Paraiso and Sontogrande. A Handicap Certificate is required by most Golf Clubs.

On site there is a golf academy and driving range. Golf clubs are available to hire from the on-site pro shop within the country club itself and a range of green fees are listed at reception for numerous courses located in the area, including the PGA tournament course at Valderama. There is tuition available on the Costa Galera course, for driving and putting, from the 1997 PGA tour coach.

Ski: You can actually ski or snowboard in the resort of Sierra Nevada in the province of Granada which is a 2 hour drive away.
