An excellent week's stay in July 2009

My family and I stayed here in July 2009, and very much enjoyed our stay. The apartment is spacious and comfortable with absolutely spectacular views of the bay and the surrounding hillside on both sides. The terrace is very pleasant, and we were very grateful for the awning in the baking summer heat!
Mary couldn't have been more helpful, and we were also paid regular visits by her friendly dog, Jake, a black poodle, who was great fun!
We should also mention that there is a very good, understated restaurant at the bottom of the hill, who served the best pizzas and saltimbocca that we have ever tasted, with fantastic, friendly service.
If you decide to stay in on an evening, there is a large table on the balcony (again, overlooking the harbour) so that you could enjoy your evening meal with a glass of chilled wine, watching the sun go down behind the hillside. You couldn't imagine a more blissful setting at the end of a day.
If there's any downside, it's not to the apartment itself, but the rather long walk down to the harbour, which is fine on the way down, but quite hard work when you're walking up 40 degree slopes in the afternoon sun!
All in all, we very much enjoyed our week at the apartment, and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Owner's Response: Glynis, Thank you for that wonderful review. I'm pleased that your stay was so enjoyable.
While your last comments about the uphill walk are quite correct, I would like to add that the walk to the "understated restaurant" at the bottom of the hill is only about 200 yards (metres). It is located on the Moyenne Corniche from which you can take buses in several different directions including one down to the harbour, beaches, and railway station.
