Tastefully converted, decorated and furnished in traditional Slovene country style to a high standard.

Regina Cottage is located in a rural, peaceful setting surrounded by fields and forests and just 30 min drive to the picturesque Slovene capital of Ljubljana.

Location of object:

Rakitna lies in the heart of a large karst plateau at 800 metres in the heart of the Krim – Mokriko mountains. Along the kart field runs a disappearing stream Rakitnica. After the Second World War the springs in the upper part were dammed, creating an artificial lake, attracting numerous excursionists. In the summer swimming is possible in the lake and in the winter it is great for ice skating. Rakitna is known for its benevolent climate, a mixture of Mediterranean and Alpine currents. The village hosts a children’s health resort.

Hi!
We are three couples of 26 years old and we stayed to Regina's Cottege from 29th december 2012 to 5th january 2013.
We really enjoyed our stay!
The house was confortable, well furnish and using the fireplace was a funny experience!
Rakitna is a small village, with a nice lake and there are some forest paths.
We come from Milan, and for us it was wonderful stay in a quiet village, and we also saw deers eating in the grass near by and squirrels on trees!
Rakitna is also near by Ljubljana, and a lot of cultural sites, like Postumia's caves, Predjama castle, Bled castle...
Primoz and Nina are amazing owners, kind and willing.
If you are looking for a pleasent and relaxing holiday, Regina's Cottege must be your chose!

Rekitna amazing holiday

Climbing into the hills to Rakitna was awesome. Autumn weather with flowers in every garden and harvest in progress was breathtaking. This was a wonderful place to base a vacation with day trips often to Ljubljana, Lake Bled, the caves, Castles, and the wine region of Brda. The cottage was everything it was advertised with a well equipped kitchen for our family meals. The firewood and evening fires in roomy gathering area was just what we wanted and dishwasher and clothes washer welcome coneniences. Clean, well equipped and homey We even hosted a party of cousins as one member of our group had grandparents who emigrated from this very village. Internet access readily available from local pizza and hotel. Beauty...interesting region.and excellent local restaurant and food market. Note that sleeping for large group of seven was ok because we had two couples with their three adult children so shared the two bedrooms with adequate and comfortable beds..but cozy. Two bathrooms a plus and outside decks and patio perfect. Highly recommend for those wanting to experience this country from perspective outside city living. Hvala (thanks) for a wonderful cottage stay! PS ....don't tell too many others so we avoid spoiling what seemed a non-tourist vacation. Very good communication and checking-in with owners.
