Looking out from Moonswept at the grandeur of St. John's East End and the British Virgin Islands beyond, you'll be stunned by the blue-and-green splendor stretching for miles and miles before you. Located high on a hill in Calabash Boom, up a long, steep, winding dirt road (4WD required: faint-of-heart, take note!), Moonswept overlooks the vast Caribbean panorama, where you'll be treated to cool, easterly tradewinds.
The entrance to Moonswept is under a roofed portico. The spacious kitchen with island, sitting area, desk & library, ushers you into the high-ceilinged Great Room furnished with colorful sink-into sofas & chairs. A hand-carved Balinese armoire presides over a cozy corner for TV & movie watching. A generously-sized table from the Basque country offers dining amid one of the best views on St. John. A luxuriously comfortable chaise, as well as couch & coffee table, allow for conversation, reading, or simply enjoying the breathtaking natural beauty overlooking emerald green islets & cays, and bright blue sea & sky.
Two bedrooms of equal size are placed to the right and left of the Great Room, providing excellent privacy. Each features a tiled bath; one is equipped with a washer & dryer. French doors open from the Great Room out to the tiled pool deck, which features the same mesmerizing 200-degree view and offers a 2nd dining option for alfresco meals. The pool has a built-in bench from which to appreciate the sea, and is surrounded by tropical landscaping. Rooms in Moonswept are graced with romantic indirect lighting and beautiful high ceilings of cypress with white rafters, keeping everything cool inside.
Dressed in lively Caribbean colors and providing a large, comfortable space for 2 or 4 people, Moonswept is the ideal vacation villa! The exquisite sandy beaches of Lameshur Bay & Salt Pond are less than 1 mile away, and Francis Bay, one of the renowned National Park Beaches, is about 2-1/2 miles away. The restaurants & boutiques of Coral Bay on St John's East End are a few minutes' drive from the villa, and Cruz Bay town, with ferries, shops, restaurants and watersport activities, is about a 40-minute drive.
NOTES: a 4WD vehicle is required for Moonswept.
A 5th & 6th person can sleep on a queen sofabed in the Great Room for $50/pp per night. Located next door to Moonswept is villa Sun, Moon & Stars (MAS SUN), which can accommodate an additional 2 guests.
Moonswept's on-site manager, Dave, lives in the apartment beneath the villa: he's there if you need him for maintenance, concierge services, or for seasoned advice on island activities, but your vacation privacy is 100% assured!
Thanksgiving rentals require a 7-night minimum.
