The cottage is located in Skorradalur,a valley just an hour drive from Reykjavík. It is favourite for many Icelanders and has become one of the most sought-after cottage areas in Iceland due to mild and calm weather and exceptional nature. It has great hiking trails through forests and heavily grown areas,along the beach of lake Skorradalsvatn where you can also go fly fishing. Activities in the area such as horseback riding, playing golf until well after midnight in the summer and kick back in one e.g. the many geothermal pools in the area. Skorradalur is ideally located if you want to explore the west of Iceland as short trips can be made to Húsafell and the surrounding glaciers,waterfalls such as Barnafossar and Glymur and historical places like Reykholt, Borg á Mýrum, the walley of Norðurárdalur are well within an hour drive as is national park of Þingvellir. Day-trips to Snæfellsnes,Breiðafjörður and the southern part of the Westfjords show the best Iceland has to offer.
Golf: Nearest Golf course is in Borgarnes,one of the best in Iceland,there is about 20 min drive there from the cottage.
