a secret hideaway!!

Treat yourself, and grab a bargain. Lovely private cottage, ideal for a couple wanting some 'me' time together, set in the glorious countryside of east sussex. The Cottage is at the end of a lane in a small village, and is comfortable and cosy, with nature all around -and a good gastropub within walking distance. Sara is the ideal hostess - available with support and advice when needed, but never overbearing. Recommended.

Shabby but not chic.

  • 3 of 5
Our host Sarah was very welcoming and friendly but this did not make up for the tired decor and scruffy look of the Lodge. We would recommend thoroughly cleaning the place once in a while. The table and two chairs for sitting outside had also seen better days. This was such a shame because the Lodge is situated in a wonderful location.

Owner's Response: This is a comfortable very spacious accommodation in the country and the price does not reflect it is 5* furnished. Everything is there for guests and plenty of peace and quiet and no passing traffic. Furniture is not brand new but very adequate and tidy .Most guests comment on the suitability of everything

very nice place and cottage

  • 5 of 5
We've just come back to Milan from our holidays we spent in South Eastern England, having the cottage as our base. The place and the cottage are very nice and in a quiet position, surrounded by the green, forest and many animals (there are horses and the friendly Labrador of the owner, but you can easily meet deers, foxes, squirrels and many other inhabitants of the forest.
We've been lokkin for an accomodation wich could be usefull both for relaxing in the quiet of the country but also to move around to visit the region, and the cottage has been a perfect choice. We had many tours , all within distances of max 2 hrs. We visited Salisbury, Stone Henge, Chichester and Arundel, Canterbury, London more than once (lovely the day we spent at the Kew Gardens), in addition to all the local attractions as Battle, Hastings, Rye.
Special mention to Sarah, the owner, a fantastic guest, who supported us daily with suggestions and first of all introducing us to the very spirit of British lifestyle that we, as not English, appreciated here in very pure representations as going to see cricket, visiting charities among the villages etc, all events we've been introduced thanks to our guest.

friendly out-of the-way cottage

  • 4 of 5
If you're looking for peace and quiet, countryside and a friendly landlady then this is the place for you. Horses are stabled just outside the back door, and there are lots of cats in the neighbouring house.
The accommodation is cosy and especially suited for a couple, sleeping in a double-bed in a made to measure room off the dining-room/lounge. In the dining-room/lounge are a bed and a sofa to allow a further 2 people to sleep, but it isn't private!
We'll be visiting next year - we liked our stay there!!

A great holiday home..

  • 5 of 5
This holiday home is really good to spend vacations in. It's located in a nice, pleasant location, away from all the crowd of big cities and in just right place to get to many sights and other things to do. The interior of the cottage is really nice, well-maintainned and has everything you need for a comfy stay. The owner, mrs.Sarah, is really lovely, she gives a warm welcome and is always there for help. We would recommend this cottage to everyone who likes to spend his vacations in a pleasant place, or to anyone who comes to england sightseeing. We loved it there, and we're sure you will do, too.
Greetings from Slovenia.
