This recently redecorated and refurnished two-bedroom villa apartment enjoys spectacular views over Nerja and the Costa del Sol from its spacious, south-facing and sunny terrace. The small patio garden, provides extra outdoor sitting space and has a barbecue. The terrace is bathed in sunshine from early morning until sunset but shade is also offered. This rental property is furnished to a high standard and powerful ceiling fans are fitted in the lounge and both bedrooms to provide cool in the hot summer. The comfortable lounge/diner has two sofas, satellite television, DVD player, music centre, table and chairs. The lounge and both bedrooms all open on to the terrace and have superb views over Nerja and the Costa del Sol. The large communal swimming pool is the best in Nerja. The centre of Nerja is just over a mile away, as is the beach. There is a bus (1 euro per person) from near the apartment to Nerja and the beach throughout the day until 8.00pm. A taxi is approximately 6 euros

Nerja is a lovely seaside town on the favoured eastern Costa del Sol with several beaches. It is about 40 miles from Malaga within driving distance of many beautiful Andalusian cities (such as Granada, Cordoba and Seville). Mountain villages such as Frigiliana and Competa are nearby. La Herradura (with its sweeping beach) and Almunecar are just along the coast from Nerja. The Sierra Nevada is only 90 minutes away by car. San Juan de Capistrano is a peaceful development set in beautiful tropical gardens but within easy reach of Nerja and its beaches, shops, bars,and restaurants. Our villa apartment is on a no-through road (hence traffic noise is minimal) adding to the peace and serenity of the marvellous setting that San Juan de Capistrano offers. The mountains behind the apartment offer opportunities for walks rewarded with wonderful views over Nerja and the Costa del Sol.

  • Both bedroomshave been totally redecorated and refurnished (Oct 2009). They have double beds with comfortable firm mattresses , built-in wardrobes, dressing table with mirror above, bedside tables and lamps. Both bedrooms have French doors that open up on to the large terrace, offering amazing views over the town of Nerja and the Costa del Sol. Ceiling fans help keep the rooms cool and, unlike air-conditioning, you are able to leave the windows open for fresh air.

Notes: The two bedrooms and the lounge all lead on to the terrace and are fitted with ceiling fans, which guests have commented are especially useful during the warm summer Nerja nights. San Juan de Capistrano's superb communal swimming pool is one of the best in the Nerja area with pool-side bars and lovely views over the Costa del Sol. Several of our guests have stated that is is the best equipped apartment they have ever stayed in: that is because it is our home for most the year- not just a rental property. The apartment is fully equipped and even has an iron, ironing board, hairdryer, cool box and ice blocks. There is also a large selection of books to read and some games too. We even supply a pair of binoculars for gazing out to sea!

Golf: There are two golf courses within an easy drive of Nerja. Anoreta golf club is only thirty kilometres away in Rincón de la Victoria and Bavaria Golf is in La Caleta, near Nerja. Although it has only 9 holes at present,the remaining nine are under construction and are due to open shortly. Several other courses are within an hour's drive.

Excursion possibilities: No stay in Nerja is complete without seeing the atmospheric Nerja caves which feature in the Guiness Book of Records. Several beautiful mountain villages (such as Frigiliana and Competa) are within easy driving distance of Nerja. The coastal towns of Almunecar and La Herradura are also worth a visit. If you want a day away from Nerja, why not take an excursion to Granada (to see the beautiful Alhambra palace) or Malaga? It is even possible to visit the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada and be back in Nerja for a swim in the late afternoon! For those of you who like a bit of 'retail therapy' there is a very large indoor shopping centre about 12 miles away (back towards Malaga) where you can also have a drink, eat tapas and watch a film.

Walking and skiing: Mountain walks through a National Park start within 100 metres of the apartment and they offer fantastic views over Nerja and the Costa del Sol. Other walks are possible from the villages of Frigiliana and Competa near Nerja. The Sierra Nevada Ski resorts are south of Granada and within driving distance (approximately one and a half hours from Nerja). It is said to be possible to ski in the morning and be on the beach in the afternoon!

A Dream Come True

Had the good fortune to spend winter '07 at this wonderful property with a million $ view over Nerja & the Med. The owner, Dan, was most helpful & he helped me with the many questions I had. The directions from Malaga to Nerja were perfect.
The place was spotless upon our arrival & everything was just how it was described. Everything worked & we never ran out of hot water in the shower.There was a guest book with info on restaurants, day trips and Nerja itself .
We took many day trips into the mountains & along the coast & by the time we left, it felt like we lived there. The beach was a 2 minute drive down the hill(many people walked).
All in all, it was a great experience & I would definitely recommend this property to anyone. For further info, feel free to contact me.
Owner's Response: Unlike many resorts, Nerja does not close for the winter as it is a working Spanish town with charm in abundance. It is an ideal place for an autumn/winter break. We often walk down to the beach and town in approximately 25 minutes.

This property is very well-equipped and the view beautiful. The blue book provided was very useful in finding places to go and offering advice on restaurants. The larger room was great in that there was plenty of room for all our 3 children to sleep, the fold-up bed was really big and comfortable. Also the fans were great to have and really helped in chilling down the rooms.

However I felt that the photos I had seen prior to booking were a bit misleading and perhaps need to be updated particularly to show the lounge as it currently looks and also the terrace views which dont have any bougainvillea growing on the walls. This is fine detail but were things that had attracted us to the property.
Owner's Response: The bougainvillea was removed by the gardeners since our last visit as the roots were cracking the wall. We have removed textual reference to it and will be updating the photos in September when we next visit. The lounge will also be totally refurbished in September with new sofas, new furniture, flat screen TV and airconditioning/heating

A really lovely holiday

We stayed in the apartment for two weeks and had a very enjoyable time.
Very clean apartment, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and a wonderful view from the terrace. Every day we had our breakfast at the upper terrace and enjoyed the magnificent view at Nerja and the Med.
The communication with the owner was fantastic. We got a lot of instructions and informations about the apartment, Nerja and the area around. Thanks a lot for the assistance.

Beautiful surroundings

Stunning location, with beautiful views from the huge roof terrace.
Nerja is a charming Spanish town with lots of wonderful bars and restaurants.

The apartment is well decorated and has everything you need. It is very clean and the layout is good. I particularly enjoyed lying out on the roof terrace with a glass of wine soaking up the sun!
Owner's Response: The terrace views are truly amazing and are what sold the apartment to us. When on the terrace looking out over the town and coast, relaxation is immediate! However, it is not a roof terrace as the lounge and both bedrooms open on to it.
