Heaven on earth

It's always a gamble coming somewhere new and having to rely on a web-site and reviews, but rest assured this beautiful hideaway will exceed your highest expectations. Set on a quiet hillside, the restored farmhouse offers a perfect mix of rustic charm and modern convenience. As I write this from the mayhem of a post conflict african city, I am revisiting memories of sitting on the outdoor terrace in the evening sunshine as the swallows swoop and flit across the swimming pool, and gazing over to the ancient village on the neighbouring hill as the bell of the small church echoes lazily across the valley.
The house is well equiped for those who enjoy self catering, or alternatively sample the many bars and restaurants still unspoilt by the tourist industry. This is real Italy. During our three visits to date we have explored the beautiful lakes and mountains within an hour's drive, wandered amoung Roman ruins and enjoyed the ambience of the old market towns and museums. A day trip to the many beaches is always on the itinery and we find something new each time we come.
The house is beautifully appointed, quiet and private, and owners clearly pride themselves in the care and maintenance of their property. We cannot recommend it highly enough and will return as often as we can.
