Lovely,spacious apartment on the Costa Calida in the South East of Spain, at the north end of La Manga strip.It over looks the Tomas Maestre marina and canal.Finished 2006,it is tastefully decorated and has two bedrooms,1 double and 1 twin(both with ceiling fans).There are two bathrooms (both with baths & over showers),one of these being en suite.There is a large balcony from the lounge,and two smaller ones from each of the bedrooms.There is a double bed sofa in the lounge with a further pull out child's low bed.Air conditioning in lounge and underfloor heating throughout.The lounge/dining area has a large table easily seating 6.On the balcony there is also a large table to seat 6.The kitchen is ideal for self catering with oven,hob,microwave and large fridge freezer.There is a washing machine in the utility area.The lounge has a three seater sofa and arm chair,TV,Sky and DVD player (which plays music CDs).This apartment is on the first floor with stair and lift access. 2 pools on site
La Manga strip area: La Manga is a strip of land 22kms long which is placed between two seas, the Mediterranean and the Mar Menor(the little sea).The Mar Menor is a large lake of warm salt water, which is famous for its therapeutic properties. It has an average depth of 1.7m, which makes it ideal for various water sports. The depth around the shore is only 0.5m and this along with the warm water temperatures makes La Manga the perfect place for children to safely enjoy the beach. The apartment is close to shops, a new supermarket(200m approx) and restaurants and there is a regular bus service, up and down the strip at low fares, if you prefer a wider selection to choose from.
There is a sailing school just 15mins walking distance from the apartment offering a good variety of water sports. From novice to to the experienced, they cater for all. There are various boat trips leaving from the port daily. These will take you around the vast coast of the Mar Menor allowing you to see various villages on route.
The market at Cabo de Palos, the south end of the strip, is on a Sunday from 8am- 2pm and is very busy so, get there sooner rather than later! The ferry leaves the port of Tomas Meastre on a Wednesday for the market on the mainland. Scuba diving has become ever more popular in this area and there are schools in La Manga and Cabo de Palos, who will organise daily trips by boat and offering equipment to rent for newcomers. Also in La Manga area are tennis clubs with courts open to the public all year round, plus a roller skating rink and a full sized go kart track. The road which runs through La Manga strip has been built to offer the cyclist the safety of a cycle lane and because there are hardly any hills on the strip it is ideal for cycling. There is a nine hole golf course towards the end of the strip and the world famous La Manga Club is a short drive away. The club also offers a vast range of other activities and has superb spa facilities, which are open to the public all year.
How to get there: The nearest airport is at San Javier (Murcia) approx 45mins or Alicante approx 90mins.The rental rates are for the property only and do not include transport to and from the airport, however should you wish for transport to be arranged for your safe pick up and return, this can be done at the time of final confirmation.San Javier- 100 euros return, Alicante- 220 euros return. With many low cost airlines now flying to both of these airports it has never been easier to visit this beautiful area of Spain. This area boast 320 days a year of sunshine and with low humidity levels and mild climate means this part of Spain has been rated one of the healthiest climates on the planet.
