We love Lake Placid and all that it offers in convenience and premier outdoor activities, both summer and winter. When we are too old to sail anymore, we know this will be our year round home!
Linda purchased this house in 2005
WE LOVE THE ADIRONDACKS !
44 Highland Place - Close to town, great views, gorgeous kitchen and baths, hot tub, skiing, hiking, shopping, Olympic history. Overlooking Mirror Lake, it is like living in a treehouse.
The location is perfect. You have a beautiful home and even though it rained and snowed all weekend and we didn't even step foot on your beautiful deck we couldn't have been happier with the rental. I am already thinking of ways to make a trip happen next year. I fully understand all of the five stars ratings!! Thank you!!
Please feel free to post this. I'm not as organized as usual on maternity leave so it might take me a while to post myself. The only thing that I could note is that some new pots and pans might be nice. That is the only thing I could possible critique. Everything was fantastic!!
Amazing property! A lot of the time when you rent a house, the pictures make it look more impressive than it is in person. In this case the pictures did not do the property justice. The layout and the detail made this place a “no brainer” for future LP trips. The owners were very accommodating and quick to respond via email or phone.
This gorgeous house is close to everything. There is more than enough room for multiple families to enjoy an extended stay. I would recommend this house to anyone. Thanks Linda, we had a fantastic time!
My family has been vacationing in Lake Placid every winter for the last 34 years. We just returned home from our stay and had our best experience yet. The location is amazing. Close enough to town to walk (even with a 3 year old walking) yet hidden and secluded for a true private experience. Views from the house were fantastic. The home was clean, warm, inviting, large enough for 8 adults & 3 children. Plenty of room to spread out, with game room, outdoor hot tub (that was in perfect condition). The kitchen and bathrooms are high end with great finishes. The viking range was perfect for the two nights we stayed in to cook. Staying so close to town made dining out and ordering in extremely convenient after a day of skiing. The best part about the house was how well build and quiet the house was for everyone to sleep in and not be disturbed by a few people staying up late or the kids getting up early. We could all be together (large dining area and perfect sitting area for the group) yet do our own thing and not be bothered by a schedule that differed from our own preference. The sleeping loft in the master bedroom was the perfect hide away for three kids (7,5,3) They actually wanted to go to bed at night!
I have only good things to say about our stay. The location and accommodations pleased everyone in our group of six adults. We all highly recommend.
This is the second time I've stayed here with a group. We attended the Eastern Synchro skating Championships. House is terrific! Very comfortable and cozy. Has everything that you need/want and is within walking distance of the town (And I' almost 60!!) I would recommend to anyone! Very spacious. The only thing (and it's a "pet peeve" of mine) is that the knives could be sharper! Just being picky, but in no way would I let that diminish the 5 star rating!!
FREE shuttle to downhill mountain at driveway, a short walk to center of town
